How about, we all start wherever, in our own separate places, and then suddenly we all have a reason to go to a tiny kingdom on the other side of Neopia? (north of altador) And the weather is all screwed up, like rainy one minute, sunny the next.

Ultra's idea sounds good. The only problem with the other one is if we would be able to get everyone to the same place easily enough.

Hmm... Here's a setting idea. Maybe, the core of negative energy not only effected the present life, but also that of the past ones. (never really did get how neo was able to make having a space-station and a midevil area in the same world roll.... but yeah  ) any who.... Maybe, pets from the future or 'present' can unknowingly find themselves in the past. I was thinking a it could start in a modern city, and then suddenly the good characters find themselves in the past of neropia xD. That would be creepy... If anything else fails, an abandoned/huanted/junk-yard of a robotic city that failed turning hte hight of economic growth always works. |

Three mysterious castles! One deep underwater, one on land, and one in the sky! And no, I do not mean Maraqua, Meridell and Faerieland. I mean, the Rekah are not all friends. They have three groups: the Water Rekah, the Land Rekah, and the Air Rekah. They're all enemies and want to destroy the other, and their weird mix of power is causing the funky energy! Our characters start wherever and meet up somewhere on their journey after a faery comes and tells them to go to the Castle of the Land Rekah. They have to go to each castle and defeat the evil orb inside that emits the energy, and once they do, that part is clear! But it turns out the Land Rekah is hardest and they're easily defeated. They have to defeat the castles in order of Water, Air, then Land. Defeating the Water Rekah will clear the energy from all water sources, and such with the others.

I don't think we should split up the Rekah, and the different bases seems way too much like a videagame for my taste. I think that the Rekah could have a main base, but some of the Rekah aren't always there. They could keep the other neopets on the move while some of the more powerful stay to watch the orb-thing. More like they're being sent on a goose chase following different Rekah.
As for the exact setting, I was thinking somewhere kind of neutral to start, like a small town or city. Maybe afternoon, partly cloudy.

Ahh, that's okay. After I typed it, it sounded a lot like a video game to me, too. I like to make up ideas for video games. Too bad I can't make one... *sigh* Also, I was watching Elfen Lied, and somehow that twisted with the idea of something.. ehh, I dunno. I'm a spaz. ^_^

mm, so like this?:
they're all doing - whatever - in the city, shopping, socialising, generally being cool - whatever. it's all cloudy or whatever and suddenly it starts snowing or something.
"wtf? snowing? it's the middle of summer?!" or to that effect.
I think it'd be good there for someone to either go home or look through a tv store window, because the news would be displaying something like:
"Strange weather continues to fall all over Neopia to a cataclysmic scale; some experts say this could be Neopia's apocalypse."
*everyone runs around screaming*
"The cause of this seems to be coming from mystery island-"
*show picture of MI covered in dark clouds.. or .. something.. I dunno*
"-blblablabla...etc."
so this goes on for a few days, then there's a riot or something in which non-magical pets are protesting, saying it's the magical pet's fault, yadda yadda.
so the magical pets decide to end this at MI, which is when the non-magical characters (Dhia etc) follow cos they're gonna kill them, or something.

Yeah, my pets too. I think. Gorrio lives int he Lost Tomb, Shallo's got secret caves scattered throughout neopia, and Phyn lives by herself in her studio which attaches to omega's house on MI.
But I see how that would work. If I make Gorrio part of the Rekah, he could have the orb there, or something.
