Phyn smiled at Lue comment, "Thanks, and it's fine if you don't know much about the Haunted Woods. I'll just find out when we get there." she scampered ahead, pulling out her camera and catching veiws of the landscape like nothing was wrong. She glanced at Daani, the aisha still setting her nerves off a bit, but the kyrii seemed alright.

Checkr glanced at Daani as they walked, as if unsure if she knew the way, but seeing her expression, asumed it was so. The kyrii then looked back and grinned at Phyn and Lue, "Any of you been there? I haven't.. I've heard about it though..."

Lue nodded and wagged his tail "Yeah I went there once or twice, well to the carnival anyways." He said and smiled, "We should stop there, I'm sure that'll be fun." He suggested and looked at Phyn who was snap-shooting random things, "Save some film for when we get to the forest, there are some pretty neat looking trees in there." He said and put his hands in his pockets, "So Daani, you know where we're going?" He asked even though she looked pretty confident about her direction.

Daani merely nodded. They'd been walking for a while and were out in the plains of Neopia. But while she could hear them and knew where she was going, her attention was elsewhere. For instead of the deserted plains Phyn, Lue and Checkr saw, Daani saw bodies. Everywhere. In the center she saw an Aisha and a Xweetok. When she saw the Aisha's eye rip out of her skull and heard the bloodcurdling scream of pain and fury, she shivered and stopped in her tracks. The scene vanished, and the soft glowing pulse of her charm necklace faded away, but the scream still rang in her ears.

Checkr caught up to Daani, looking over the horizon in a pleased manner. They had covered so much distance already! She looked over at the aisha, and her expression turned to puzzlement, seeing that Daani looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Are you...?" she asked, suddenly looking in all directions, searching for some assailent or threat, and seeing nothing of course.

In a way, she had seen a ghost, though she knew none of that. All she knew was that she had a weird feeling that what she just saw was something yet to happen. She nodded to Checkr with a smile to say 'I am fine', but all the while they continued their walk she kept a constant vigil out for a faerie Xweetok or a tall Aisha in a trench coat.

Phyn laughed at his comment, but stopped taking picturesf or now, "Well, even so, I've got some extra film, she said, patting her bag in a pleased manner. Today was interesting day, meeting new people, acting no whim, taking risks, but she didn't think it was too bad.
Since she had been walking behind the aisha, at first she didn't even notivce something was wrong till checkr asked. When the aisha replied in the negative, though, Phyn started to wonder what was running through the girl's head.

Lue again got a weird feeling over this Daani girl, why did she just randomly stop like that? Probably another train... Lue said and laughed to himself. He turned to Phyn and looked at her bag, "Ok good." He said and smiled weakly, "We should be getting there anytime now at the pace we're making." He said and looked up ahead. The dark trees of the forest were starting to come in view a while off but they were in sight now at least...

Checkr smiled back, then soon lost interest in the "attackers", staring at the dark treetops on the distance, so different from the brightly lit forest path they were walking on now... Atleast, that is, until the sun set. She wished suddenly for something to tie back her hair but shrugged it off.
Noting with some interest Phyn's camera, she turned around again and adressed the lupe, "Lue, is it? Have you ever been there at night? Just in the woods?"

Lue laughed, "I'm not even crazy enough to travel in those woods at night." He said and then he realized why she was asking, it would be night soon and they were about to enter the woods soon... "Yeah I think we should wait till morning to continue on through them. They are 'scary' enough during the day no telling whats at night." He said frowning, "They are call the Haunted Woods for a reason ya know." He pointed out.

Phyn nodded, aggreeing with his logic. Then she baging to look around occasionally glanced at the forest ahead.
"So, if we have to spend the night somehwere, where's that going to be?" She asked, scamering off the path for a moment the look around. After a while she jumped into the the air, hovering about 10 feet in air as she searched for anything that looked likea good shelter nearby.

Checkr looked up at the Ruki with something close to amazement at her sudden flight, but then glared into the depths of the woods, already pretty dark under the looming branches. "Maybe it would save time..." she mused, mostly to herself, though still being a child, she was naturually apprehensive, aswell as her reckless streak hadn't fully bloomed yet.
Her stomach suddenly growled, and she stared down at it, bemused - she hadn't eaten since early morning, "Maybe there'll be some food around?"

Little Daani shook her head at the mention of camping for the night, as if saying they would not be doing so. However, at the mention of food, she heard a large rumble come from her stomach. Her eyes widened in surprise and her cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
"Sorry," she started to say, but she only mouthed it and a weird raspy noise came out. She clasped her hands over her mouth, cheeks turning redder. She'd forgotten she couldn't talk! She simply hadn't felt any need all this time, and in that time forgot she couldn't if she wanted to!

Checkr stared at the aisha wide eyed, for a moment there she had been so quiet that it had slipped her mind that Daani was right behind her. The kyrii started laughed, then shook her head. "I am hungry though." she agreed with her.
She started scanning the area for something potentially edible.

While Phyn didn't catch Daani's negative outlook on camping for the night, she did catch Checkr's comment on food. Her wings buzzed as she glnaced over the feilds, looking for anything that seemed edible. She droped, landing a little hard next to the group, but she looked around fine afterwards.
"Well, I couldn't anything that wasn't shelter, but I did spot some fruit trees some ways off. Want me to go check them out?" She asked, brushing her hair out of her eyes.
((what neopian food grows on trees? Apples?))
