(( sorry for the long wait... I just started school again.. u_u ))
"So, Mr Tiki man, how exactly do you plan to launch your upcoming music career?" "Well, Zeke..." Zeke's acid-yellow eyes glazed slightly as the island-print-shirted man started into how he would use his combination of reggae and erm.. 'sex appeal' to sweep into the Neopian music industry.
Zeke nodded and commented how Neopian Radio, particularly this time slot, would of course endorse this product and/or promotion, no matter how badly it sucked. He had said it mindlessly, though keeping the same upbeat tone of voice. He just wanted to get out of this studio and go catch some rays on his scales... glancing at his watch, he noticed he still had about 45 minutes to go. "Well, that was Mystery Island's very own Tiki Tack man, be sure to watch out for his new album, You've got my Winning Tombola Ticket, out in stores August fifteenth! We'll be right back after these few short messages." The radio then plunged into a series of ads. Zeke adjusted the collar of his loose-fitting shirt, and put his hands in his jeans pockets. The ads took about three minutes. "Okay, here we've got the latest track from the Twisted Roses - enjoy!" Zeke scowled at the relentless screaming of both the vocalists and the guitars when suddenly it began to rain. Scowling again, he noticed the sun had been masked by clouds. Great.

((Okay! Vann it tis! )) The shadow kougra grumbled as his alarm-clock radio went off, rolling over in bed and pulling the blankets and pillows over his face. For some reason, the device had been moved across the room instead of on the bedside table, which was a smart move, considering had it been whithin reach, it would already be turned off and Vann would be sleeping again. Finally the wretched "beep beep beep" ceased, only to be replaced by the loud racket of an electronically wailing guitar. He squeezed his yellow-gold eyes shut again, resolutely, recognizing the tune.. Something from the Twisted Flowers.. or Roses.. Whatever... - his sister Checkr was quite fond of blasting the radio around the house. The kougra sat up finally with a groan, directed at the radio, "But I'm on vacation..." As expected his alarm clock didn't respond, only stared at him with it's digital number eyes. With a sigh he slowly got on his feet (pausing to silence the alarm), then rummaged in his suitcase for clothes. After settling on sneakers, cargo shorts, and a bright teal shirt ("I lost my #... Can I have yours?" the front of it proclaimed in white font) Vann meticulously began combing and fussing with his hair over the mirror, grinning at his handsome reflection. Finally he winked at himself in the glass a final time, before departing the bedroom, scrawling out a quick note incase any family members wondered where he was, then was out of the house. "Beach, here we come..."

Phyn was had covered a few blocks by the time it started raining, and half wondered if it was worth it to turn back and grab an umbrella. She quickly slipped her camera in her bag while making the decision, and noticed the other people about either heading indoors or staring at the sky in dissapointment. The ruki's large antennae flicked in annoyance at the drops of rain falling down on her and turned, heading back to grab an umbrella.
By the time she had made in home she was well coated in water, but annoyance had worn off and now she just wanted to get back out. She dumped her bag on a chair, scattering the drops of water that had formed on her wings, and went to the closet to try and dig out an umbrella. After a few minutes of searching she managed to obtain a plain black one. She quickly stalked back to the door, grabbing her bag on the way, and continued with the original plan of spending a day around the island.

"Aw man." groaned the kougra, standing on the sidewalk some 50 yards away from his house, giving the depressing grey sky a crestfallen look.
As he looked up, a raindrop landing on his forhead and sliding down his face to land in a yellow eye. He blinked furiously, then raised his head up again, now mentally regarding the backback filled with today's gear on his back. With another groan, he pulled it off of his back and rummaged around before pulling out a hooded sweatshirt before carefully adjusting the hood over his head, as not to mess up his hair.

((sorry for the huge wait, haven't been able to get on much lately x_o ))
Five mintues to go... another song started, this time from a new up-and-coming band from Shenkuu. It's not that bad, I guess. Thought Zeke absent-mindedly. It was a habit of his, really. Though the lead singer hasn't got enough range. The melody is catchy, though, The song ended, and, finally, so had Zeke's timeslot. He searched his pockets for his mp3 player, while ending the broadcast quickly. "So, good morning listeners, and remember to tune in tomorrow morning for more of our special holiday broadcast! Zeke out!" He switched off the mic and the 'on air' light switched off. He grabbed his backpack from under the desk with one hand, fiddling with his mp3 with the other. He exited the Broadcast station moodily, extracting a big pair of head phones and connecting it to his mp3 player. Pulling the headphones over the orifices that were a techo's ears ((cos, uh, lizards don't really have ears, heh)) and switching the mp3 to something with a lot of bass, Zeke started down the rainy street, heading towards the market at the center of Mystery Island's city. The wind blew and his scales shivered under his short-sleeved black tee, which was a size just small enough to show his slightly muscular build.

((^^; Sorry!))
Vann continued walking down the sidewalk with stupid determination, lowering his head against the buffeting winds. He was going to go to the beach, damnit! The kougra paused to stare up at the sky again - it was growing gloomier fast, but continued on his journey.
Suddenly out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the techo, which was the only other sign of life, if you didn't count the various rubbage being blown around by the wind. "Lovely day, eh?" he called over, shaking his head.

Phyn had finally made a reasonable way into the more populated area of the island. Or it would be, if it was so windy and rainy. She shivered, not having expected the wind. She was firmly holding her umbrella in place as she made her way down the street, and therefore was still fairly dry. As she turned onto the main road she only spotted two other people, a kougra and techo. She watched them curiously, but otherwise didn't say anything.

The bass thudded in his brain. He saw a dark kougra saying something, but couldn't make out what he said. Sliding the headphones down so they were hanging around his neck, he looked at the kougra and smiled. "Sorry? Didn't catch that," Zeke said, gesturing to the sky. "Nice weather, wouldn't you think?"

Vann shrugged dismally. "Not exactly." he said, not seeming to mind that the techo had basically repeated his past concerns. "It does look like quite a party though." he said with a grin, gesturing with a flick of his head towards the Ruki, standing a bit off in the distance.
His brow suddenly furrowed with thought. "You sound familier.." he mused.

Zeke's face split into an identical grin as he saw the ruki. Then his face turned, "Hm? Oh, you've probably heard me in the morning timeslot on Neopian Radio? I'm Zeke," he said, shaking the kougra's hand.

"Vann at your service." the kougra replied, returning the handshake. He thought about what the techo had said, then nodded, "Oh! Now I remember. Was listening to that this morning... yup..." He looked again to the Ruki, tail twitching slightly, wondering where someone would go on such a horrible day.
Hold on a second... Why was he out here in the first place?

"I can't believe it's raining again, honestly - I've been here for a week now and it's just been raining and raining..." he said, looking skyward again. "... and I wanted to go to the beach or something." Zeke pouted. The bass from his mp3 was loud enough to be heard faintly from his headphones; unconscious to him, Zeke's tail twitched with the music.

((Sorry I havn't posted guys))
As Phyn neared the other two she managed to catch some of their conversation. But it all concerned the weather, which was adnnormally dreary for the island. She didn't stop to chat with them, though, but she turned to watch them as she walked past, her camera hanging from her neck in its normal place.

"True that." Vann added, looking up at the sky with an enourmous, overdramatic sigh, flattening his ears against his head. "I wish I had an umbrella." he trailed off. Suddenly seeing the Ruki walk pass, he turned, and after watching her for a minute, spoke, "Hey.. You wouldn't be happening to go to the beach too?"
