((Lemme guess, Strip's loyalties 'truly lie' with himself and his own safety, no??))
She found a ton of fruit she could easily fit in her bag. Then she collected some more to bring back. She returned to the oasis pond and sat down. It was just about dusk. She looked at Strips. "What, you think I was gonna run away?" she asked. "Pfft, I'm not stupid."

((lol, gosh, no; he's not Abby. XD))
Strips looked at Zcy, forcing a smile. "Of course I didn't. I thought you were going out to get food, and that's exactly what you did. Good work, and I know you're not stupid."
But in his mind he was saying: 'stupid, stupid girl! You should have run when you had the chance. Why did you come back? You just made things harder on both of us.' But he thought it all while keeping a smile on his face.

((What, then? Does he actually care about Zcy? Seems to me like it's all a big show. )) She placed the fruits out before them. She grabbed an apple and walked over to a tree on the other side. She climbed onto one of its limbs and stared at the setting sun. Static electricity rose all around her. She welcomed it with a smile.

((Na, not really; cares about her safety maybe. It all goes back to the whole honor thing, and his definition of it.))
Strips looked down at the fruit but didn't take one. He had just eaten half a snake and didn't want to come off as being a pig. He walked through the grass until he found his dagger, then picked it up and walked towards a different tree; hacking down some of the limbs with it. He wanted a shelter before it got dark, and at this point would almost rather he put it up by himself.

(Tack cares for only himself. But he's got a few tricks up his sleeve. )
He walked up behind Strips. "You like her?" he asked, bored.

Strips growled and turned to look at Tack. "Of course not! I'd be a bloody pedophile if I did! By definition what we are doing is sick, therefore making me sick as well. But god man! I'm not that sick!" He was clearly offended by the very idea. "Now, are you going to help me or not? 'Cause if you're not, I'd rather be alone."

He leaned against the tree. "You enjoy the manipulation of an innocent girl, do you not?" he asked, eyes flashing. He held no smirk on his face, and his voice was quiet. "I know I do."

Strips scowled and ran his tongue across his teeth. Had he been speaking another language when he said he wanted to be alone? But he knew he would have to continue to go on with it, or Tack would surely have his head. "You shouldn't be talking about such things aloud. We both know what we're doing, personal enjoyment is irrelevant. I know why you're doing this, and you know why I'm doing this, so let's just leave it at that. Mmkay?"

"Ahh, she's way over on the other side," he said, waving his hand. "But, if you really insist on your privacy well, I can't exactly be to rude now can I?" He walked away.

Strips waited until Tack was gone before sighing and throwing himself up against a tree, slinking down. He buried his face in his hands and sighed again. He wasn't sure if he could do this again, playing a double agent. It had been too long; he might have been good at it in the past, but wasn't sure if he still was. How did he get himself roped into this? Darn bloody honor code. Right about now, his dagger across his wrist sounded like it'd feel pretty darn good, but he knew that wasn't an option. He stood again and continued his work on making a shelter, muttering curses under his breath.

Tack walked over to the Gelert. He looked at her. "so what is your name? I never figured it out."

"It's none of your business," she snapped. "But if you insist, call me Zcy."

Strips quieted as he continued to work, clearly deep in thought. He hadn't thought this all the way through yet, but he seemed to be unable to. He knew his 'job', if one could call it that, but he was unsure as to whether or not to actually follow through with it. With his luck Tack would find a way to manipulate Zcy into ganging up on him, and there was no real way to plan for something like that. Tack didn't seem like the type to keep his word, so even though they shook on it, Strips still figured Tack would try to harm Zcy anyway. This seemed to be getting more and more complicated by the minute.
"bIjatlh 'e' yImev!" He yelled as loud as he could in a harsh tongue, as if he were yelling at his mind to shut the hell up. That's what it roughly translated out to be, and it seemed to work too; his mind finally stopped racing with those words.
He cocked his head as he examined the shelter he was nearly finished making. Why the heck had he built it in the first place? It was a good way to get rid of some pent up energy, though it seemed pointless. I mean, did it even rain in the desert? What the heck was he trying to shelter everyone from? Wind? Bugs? There wasn't much wind and the bugs would be able to get in anyway. He sighed and muttered, "HuH Qa'Hom" Basically cursing at himself in another language.

"Zcy, hm?" he asked. He heard Strips's yell, but ignored it. "Tell me, Zcy, do you ever wonder what kind of death you would have?"

She rolled her eyes. "Knock it off, will ya?" she snapped. "I'm not going to die any time soon, and I'm not going to ever die by your hand! So why don't you just lay off?"
