After a week or two thay allowed him out of the bed, but he was still wearing a good number of the bandages and the floor and walls are pretty much coated with rupper. Everytime he moved it sent a spark or bolt flying, so he had been pretty much banished from touching anything electronic, especially if it was touching the space station.
The hissi sighed, pacing the small room with impatience, glaring down at his hand as if that would prevent the continous bursts of electricity. It didn't, though, so he was forced to continue wandering the room aimlessly.
There was a knock on the door, and Gorrio's crest rose as he called them in. Mars and Roti entered, the latter turned away from the door and obviously struggling with something.
"What have you got, Roti?" Gorrio asked, moving to try and see past the speckled nimmo. Mars grinned, moving into his path.
"Hold on Gorrio, you'll see in a minute. Remember when you were asking about Andrej earlier, and they didn't have an answer to whether they could fix him or not?" Mars laughed as he watched his friend's reaction, crest fully in the air and a large grin spreading across his face.
"Did they manage to fix him? They did, didn't they?" the hissi asked, about to shove the nimmo out of the way before remembering he couldn't touch anyone. Sparks flew anyway, making his two friends back up hastily. Roti smiled sadly, turning with the buzzler in her arms.
"Remember, thgouh, you can't touch him..." she warned, setting the buzzler down. Gorrio slid down to look at the small robotic turle, and the buzzler wagged hi tail happily.
"Protect Rio." the petpet shimed happily, moving forward to nudge the hissi. Gorrio hastily retreated, though, leaving the poor creature with a confused look. Gorrio frowned.
"I can't touch you, Andej. I'd hurt you." He looked up at Mars, who lifted the buzzler out of the way, all of them trying to ignore the petpet's pitiful whining.
Gorrio said goodbye to his friends, and wandered over to the small window looking out at space, his mind racing.
I'll get out of here, somehow. I'm going to get control of this mess and not be trouble for everyone anymore. I'm going to get this fixed.

It was several months since the last attack by Sloth when Gorrio's life on the space station started to decline. Peace had once more settled around the space station as far as attacks by Sloth went. However the problem of the glowing hissi was only getting worse and worse. There had been too many close call with machinery, and the hissi was now under guard and ordered not to leave the rubber lined room. he had been given.
"There's no other choice, Gorrio. We need to get you off the space station. We've arranged for one of the flyers to take you to the ground base. The ship's being fixed up so you won't cause any mishaps with that electricity of yours, but you must understand we just can't risk having you on board."
The captain of the space station of giving the final news to the glowing hissi. Gorrio was standing by the window, looking out at the stars and holding back ever nerve in his body not to protest. He knew that everything he was being told was true, but leaving his home was the last thing he wanted.
"You can take all your belongings down with you, including your buzzler. I'll tell the rest of the crew that you're to be leaving, so they can say their goodbyes," the red kyrii paused, sighing, "it's a shame, Gorrio, to have to say this. You were a great pilot, a great member of the crew. and now you have to leave your home, just for trying to save it. I hope-"
Gorrio interupted his thoughts, his voice tight, "Please, sir, I understand. Just send word when the ship's ready to leave." The hissi didn't turn from the window, but behind him the captain nodded slowly, and turned to go. As the door shut behind him, gorrio sighed, stared yearningly at the stars one last time, and made his way to his cot to collapse on it deep in thought.

Gorrio sat up on his cot, focusing with all his might on not shocking the cloud wocky currently squeezing him to death. Despite the effort Roti’s fur was standing on edge, making her look twice as big, and she was occasionally getting shocked.
“I can’t believe you’re leaving. I mean, this is your home and everything…” she let go of his, standing back to look him in the eye. He gave her a sad smile, but didn’t answer. She stepped back again, quickly wiping the tears out of her eyes and Mars came forward. The nimmo grabbed Gorrio in a quick hug. “It won’t be the same without you here.” “Hm, yeah, you either. I’ll send a message when I get down. I mean, I’ll still be able to contact you guys, and everything.” Gorrio responded, watching the guard who was supposed to call to the ship any moment. The hissi had already exchanged goodbyes with his parents, who were standing at the door together, his things were packed and all the waited was word from the captain.
Gorrio slipped of the cot, and the other two made room for him as he made his way to the window. He sighed, his crest lying low along his back. “I’m going to miss this view and everything….” He said, as much to himself as everyone else. No one replied, but glances were exchanged. The group stood in silence for a few minutes, until the guard put a hand up to his headset, and addressed the glowing hissi.
“Gorrio, the ship’s ready, and the captain wants you and board as soon as you get there,” “Yes sir,” he said in reply, turning to make his way to the door. His mother latched a last minute hug on him as he went, but let go soon enough and the hissi started his journey to the planet they worked to hard to protect.

The room he was stationed in now was hardly that different from the one aboard the space station. It was plain, coated in rubber, and held a single cot. The only difference now was that the view was several stories in the air looking over a lush jungle and ocean in the distance. The ocean baffled Gorrio, whom had never seen that much water in his life. He would sit for hours at the window just staring at the scenery of Mystery Island and trying to understand how to apply his knowledge of Neopia to the new world around him.
The ocean covered most of the planet. The white clouds apparently grouped together to form water. Plants were a type of life that covered the surface and was fairly necessary to living here. But to the space born hissi, it was a marvel. He had nothing to compare the beautiful colors, scents, and feelings he had experienced in the small time he had been on the surface. And there were so many different neopets here. He knew almost every person aboard the space station, now he had to start again with meeting people, and he had as much to learn about the basics of this planet as the average neopian had about space flight. He longed to see what everything felt like, but he was still bound to the room. The window was his sole escape and teacher.
One of the other reasons he had been sent to ground base, besides the danger of staying behind, was the research facilities. Everyone hoped they could find a way to reverse, or at least control, his new powers. Some of the greatest scientists worked here, and surely one of them would be able to find out a solution to Gorrio’s problem. And that was how he was introduced to Dr. Rewinor Newman. Dr. Newman knew more about electricity than any other member of the staff. He was put in charge of Gorrio and came in daily to see if they could make a breakthrough.
“Tell me again what happened, Gorrio,” the scientist asked, as he sat across from Gorrio, hooking the hissi up to various machines.
“I was fixing the main generator during an attack by Dr. Sloth. Some of the cables had come undone and someone had to replace them. I went down to fix it, and sometime while I was doing that I guess I got zapped, or something, and lost consiouness. At least that’s what I figure must have happened, all I remember is being in a lot of pain and waking up in the infirmary later.”
The hissi recounted this as his examiner finished hooking up the machine. Instantly it flared to life, bright jagged lines flashing across the screen. There didn’t seem to be any pattern that Gorrio could see, but Newman was bent over the screen, watching the graph closely, his large cybunny ears swiveling and flicking. After a while he started taking notes on a clipboard, but Gorrio could make no sense of his writing and settled back to wait. Finally Dr. Newman stopped, turned off the machine, and started removing it from Gorrio. More than once sparks flicked across their surfaces, but the cybunny’s gloved stopped them. “I’m getting patterns similar to those I’ve tried with pets that have natural electric powers. The energy output is different of course, but the pattern changed when you started relaxing. I figure that the amount of control is up to you or your emotions, like most of those with natural powers. However, there’s another test I want to try before I leave you.” While he had been giving this report he had taken out a rather odd device. It seemed to be only a small metal disk on a wooden rod with a rubber handle. While Gorrio was trying to figure out what on earth it could be, Newman gave him instructions.
“Alright, Gorrio, I want you to spread out your arms, or wings, and sit up straight.” Gorrio did so, feeling rather apprehensive and curious, resulting in a small shower of sparks.
“The report from your friends is that you often wear spare cables for emergencies, correct? They believe that might have something to do with how you got zapped, and I want to see if that might have had any part in how the electricity in you seems to have retained. Now hold still.”
With that Dr. Newman began holding the rod in close to Gorrio’s scales. Almost instantly a small bolt of green lightning arced to the disk, and the cybunny began moving it experimentally over Gorrio’s body. Most of the time it kept a small steady line, but at times it flared up, or dimmed down. The most drastic change was when it was moved over his chest. A larger bolt that any so far arced to the disk, making both Dr. Newman and Gorrio jump.
“That was it! That must be where you got zapped. Your center, your core, if you will, seems to be the source of the lightning. Just like those who naturally have power like yours.” Dr. Newman was paused, smiling, and began taking down his equipment to move it out of the room.
“From what I can tell we can easily put a lid on your powers, you just need some training in focusing them. I’ve got an old friend who I’m sure would love to teach you. However, I don’t think I can reverse it, unfortunately. Like I’ve been saying, everything I’ve gotten from you matches those who’ve always have and will have their powers. But don’t worry, if things work out with this friend of mine helping you with control, you can probably be back to doing everything you havn’t been able to now.” And with those encouraging words the scientist left, leaving Gorrio staring out his window grinning wildly.
