Zuri, Abby, Strips ~ Private

The stick bounced off Strips's head; he wasn't pleased. "A stick wound that looks like a bite mark?" he hissed. He was starting to wish they'd just leave him alone. He knew Zuri had healing powers, so there was no reason for him to go to a hospital. Of course, he didn't know the extent to Zuri's powers.

If he knew he could get away with it, he would have pummeled Zuri by now and beat the living tar out of him.

"Strips, will you please listen to him? You know I didn't meant to hurt you, really I didn't." Abby pleaded in a small voice.

"You know, I'm beginning to wonder about that. Both of you have tried to kill me, and I'm startin' to wonder if you're doing it intentionally. It's like you're in league against me; both of you have seemed dead set on seeing me die, after all."

Zuri just kinda giggled now. It was barely audible but he still did. He really didn’t know why. “I know you’d be against this but I could always just heal you.” Zuri wasn’t sure how well. He had just healed himself not to long ago so he’d probably just be able to heal the muscle and some skin if he was lucky. But it’d still be useable. But by this point in time, just having everyone jump in the lake to cool off was probably a good idea. Get everyone calmed down and freezing. Which is probably what Zuri was laughing at. Seeing Strips soaked to the bone would be hilarious. “So do you want me to or not?”

Strips didn't answer Zuri at first; he had to mull it over. He merely sighed as his eyes rolled to view his shoulder; as soon as he saw it, he got a disgusted look on his face. He hadn't really looked at it until now, and it looked absolutely nasty. There were four clear holes in his shoulder, two in the front and two in the back, and ripped flesh and muscle hung around various places. He could smell the blood, too, which added to his disgust. It didn't smell like fresh blood, but rather dry blood, which had a different, distinct smell to it.

"See, I dunno if I can trust you to heal me. I'm afraid that if I let you anywhere near me, you'll kill me" he chuckled slightly. "But, I suppose it's better than going to a hospital. And since you've made it clear that it's one or the other, then I suppose I'll have to have you heal me. Normally I'd warn you that if you tried any funny business, I'd have a vampire on my side that could wipe you out, but I don't think that's the case anymore."

“Well of course you have a vampire on your side.” Zuri said. At this point in time he was just trying to get everyone to calm down and not start getting at each others throats. Well Strips getting at people’s throats that is. “Well then, come here.” Zuri then walked over to Strips and began to heal him. “And Strips, I couldn’t try any funny business. This is the only magic I know and I’m probably too weak to do anything else my self.” Now the healing had begun. For about a minute the muscle was crackling and crunching as it healed and moved back into place. Then the flesh came. It was also crackling but had a bit more of a wet noise to it as it healed. Eventually the muscle had healed back and the flesh was mostly healed. “There all better. Now I’m gonna sit down for a bit.” Zuri then walked over to the tree and sat up against it.

Had Zuri just told Strips to come to him at about the same time that he started walking toward Strips? Strips shrugged; oh well, didn't matter. He just stood back while Zuri healed him, trying to ignore the sounds being admitted by his arm. He tried not to look at it; kept his eyes closed. It didn't hurt like he thought it would, which he was glad for, and it felt much better after Zuri had finished.

After his arm was all healed up, he flexed his hand, and smiled. Then, he turned to look at Zuri and asked, "So, what happened to you in the woods anyway?"

Zuri looked up at Strips. “What happened to me? Hmmm well. Sometime between when I freaked and woke up I fractured my left arm and my wings were fractured or something. All I know really is that when I woke up my left arm was in a stilt and so were my wings. So yeah, I got pretty banged up as well. Some kid named Korshwik took care of me. I basically lay in his cave slash house for about a day while I healed myself and taught him how to use healing magic. So that’s about it for me. It wasn’t till about this morning that I finally got fully healed and was able to fly, and so I just decided to fly here after that. Then uh yeah, you know the rest.” Zuri just looked between Abby and Strips as he talked. He was really tired now. He had to heal himself then take care of Strips and now he was just low on energy. So he continued to lay back and relax for a bit and regain a little bit of his energy while he could. “Oh and yeah. You guys haven’t found the treasure or anything yet have ya?”

"Fewsh, you really missed a lot while you were gone; two days of fending off the evil vampire of death." The first day he and Abby were alone together wasn't so bad, actually it was quite nice, but he wasn't going to tell Zuri that. "But I guess now that the full moon's over, you got cher little girl friend back the same way you left her." He paused, looked down at the ground, and disturbed the soil with his toes. "Oh well, at least you're okay. Woulda been terrible if somethin' happened to you." Question was, was he being sincere or was he being sarcastic? "And no, we haven't found the treasure yet."

"Yeah, we were waiting for you before we went looking for the treasure" Abby added. She thought about curling up next to Zuri, but she still had to patch things up with Strips. Of course, after what he had said about her being Zuri's girlfriend, she wasn't sure she wanted to curl up with him. She's such a confused little girl.

“Hmmm, ah well. I doubt you guys would of found me any ways. I was out near the mountains. The opposite direction of Kiko. But I was ok. Luckily Korshwik found me so it really didn’t matter. It was rather nice out there. The sun was shining and it was a nice temperature and everything. It was a nice spot to relax. So I wasn’t really in any danger I guess. Though there were werelupes. I was fine. It just seemed to be you guys. I’m sorry I lost it and ran off though. Looks like Strips coulda used some help. Hehe, but everything worked out. Not as if any of us died. Heck, we probably went through enough to though. I mean, Strips stuck with Abby for two nights. I saw what happened last night but I still have no idea what happened the night I ran off. See as Strip wasn’t injured to badly I take it it went fairly well. To be honest with you, I probably was worse off then either of you. You have to admit that Strips. You only had an injured shoulder. So it wasn’t all that bad. It was just what happened before that that was the worse of it all. But you’re a smart guy and figured out a way to escape her for a night or two. But ah well.” Zuri was still trying to calm the air and make it not seem as if the past night was really all that bad. Strips was still alive, injured, but alive. It was just the chase that was the worst part of it.

Strips had to suppress a growl, but his throat still vibrated anyway. "You think you had it worse than I did? Boy, you are a piece of work. At least you're able to heal yourself." He shook his head from side to side; a slight smile crept across his face. "But let me tell you somethin', you missed a lot more than just Abby trying to eat me..."

Abby's ears perked; she had a feeling she knew what Strips was about to say. "Gah! Strips!" She jumped up and ran toward him at top speed; slammed her body into his with full force, and once they were both on the ground, put her hand over his mouth. "Th-there was a huge disk thingy headed right for your head! If I hadn't tackled you, it woulda chopped you head off! It's okay though; I saved you."

Zuri just gave them a bewildered look. “Alllriiight then. Whatever, I don’t think I want to know. But Strips, I probably didn’t. I was just trying to find a way for all of us to cool off. All I’m really trying to say is that it’s good that we’re all alright. I think we just need to lie down and relax. Enjoy the weather and the nice day out. I personally feel like looking at the clouds.” Zuri then got up and walked over so he wasn’t in the shade any more and lay down. “So how about we just relax?” Zuri just tried to look past the weird thing Abby did. Obviously there was something that went on but he really didn’t think he needed to know. “Whatever it was that happened, I don’t think I really want to know. It’s between them, or at least it is for Abby.” Zuri thought.

Strips squirmed under Abby and muttered something, but he couldn't be understood through her hand. He licked and salivated all over Abby's hand until she let go.

"Eww! Gross!" Abby rolled over and wiped her hand on her pants.

Strips stood, brushed the dirt off his clothes, and then gave Zuri a funny look. "You're kiddin' me, right? You wanna stare at the clouds?" That didn't sound very relaxing to him; sounded nerve racking actually. He didn't tolerate just doing nothing very well; that's probably why he was always on the move. "Eh, you know what, you do whatever you want, but I'm gunna go do... something.... I dunno; maybe I'll go take a leak or somethin'." With that, he walked off without saying another word.

The entire time Strips was talking, Abby was staring at her hand. When he left, while still staring at her hand, she asked, "Did he seriously just lick me?"

“Hahahahahah. I think so there Abby. Sounds like Strips is alright now then.” Zuri then gave a big sigh. “It’s really a nice day out. I like it. I’m just ready to sit back and relax. You wanna join me Abby? Sit here and stare at the clouds.” Zuri was enjoying himself. It was a nice warm day out and there was a small breeze and plenty of clouds out that just lazily rolled by. Nothing like lying down on the grass and watching clouds on a nice sunny, warm day. “Hoooo yeah!!” Zuri just randomly burst out. “I’m a soul man. Yeah, I’m a soul maaaaaaan.” Apparently he got a random song stuck in his head while laying there doing nothing. Got to be one of the most random things ever.

Abby giggled, especially when Zuri started singing. How could she pass up an opportunity like this? Just lay down and look at the clouds; she couldn't remember the last time she had relaxed... Well, unless you call the other night relaxing.

She shook her head at the thought; blinked rapidly in attempt to delete the images. Too many things had been happening to her lately, too many things that she wanted to forget about.

With a soft sigh, she crawled over to Zuri and lay beside him. She lay on her back, both hands placed on her stomach, and joined Zuri in just watching the clouds roll by.

Zuri gave a soft smile. It was nice to be able to relax, and with Abby. He then just started to hum. Eventually the song faded away and a new slower one took its place. It was a song he really didn’t know where it came from. He really didn’t know the words either. But as far as he knew he absolutely loved it. And it had been awhile since he last hummed it. He was relaxed now. He just closed his eyes and continued to hum. It was nice.

Abby closed her eyes, allowed all of her muscles to unwind, and enjoyed the music Zuri was producing. She could lay here all day; completely forget about the treasure.

Strips, on the other hand, was a bit aggravated. Walking calmed him, but only slightly. Of course, he never could relax completely; he was too paranoid to. He wasn't sure why he was aggravated; maybe it was the fact that Zuri and Abby were now alone together, or the fact that they were against him on everything, or the fact that they had both tried to kill him, or the fact that he couldn't get the kind of attention he wanted from Abby for anything. So many things were pouring through his mind at once that he didn't even notice that three large beasts had begun following him. They kept their distance; hid in the bushes surrounding the path, and wouldn't make their move until the appropriate time.
