((Hmmmmmmmmmm. Magic's complicated. But I was really hyper yesterday. *pokes guild post*)) "It's okay," she said, rather disappointed but choosing not to let it show. They walked in silence for a few moments. The only thing on Vi's mind was Rasi's hand. It had shook terribly when he was trying to do the spell. It would probably work if his hand was okay. She tried not to let him in on the fact that she actually was worried about his hand, even if it was only a sprain.

Rasi didn't really like the silence but didn't know what to talk about... They kept walking though the snow and into a dead forest, the trees dead from the intense cold and ice. It started getting dark, "I think we should stop here for the night..." Rasi said as they entered a clearing in the reaching branches of the trees.

"All right," she said, sitting down. She looked around at the trees; frozen, lifeless. If Ronyshia were here, she'd be mourning over all the dead plants and trying to revive them. She had a certain sort of bond with plants and nature as her power, and her powers seemed far more developed than anyone else's in the family.

Rasi nodded and looked around, there was really nothing here though, they would find nothing for food... He started digging in his back remembering the apples he had taken from Taelia before they left, "Hungry?" He asked holding one up, still digging around for the other one. He found that one too and went over by Vi, sitting down next to her and handing her the apple, taking a bite of his own.

She took it and looked it over. It was a bright red, and when she bit into it, the yellow-white juices spilled from it. She devoured the apple so fast it might be as if she'd just opened her mouth, stuck it in there and ate it in two bites. "Yum," she said, leaning up against a dead tree. She was still wearing Rasi's coat, and for now, it was enough. She closed her eyes.

Rasi smiled and slowly ate his own apple, savoring the flavor unlike Vi who ate it so fast that he just had to blink and it was gone... He leaned against the tree too, putting him injured arm around Vi and using his other to eat the apple, "Comfortable?" He asked, noticing that she was started to drift off to sleep...

"Yeah," she said, opening her eyes and looking at him. She smiled. "I'm good." Behind that smile, she knew, were many masked feelings, several of them directed towards Rasi. But she hid her irritation about his being a cold-land dweller rather than a warm-sea [dweller], her sadness that his heart would probably be broken soon because he couldn't take who she was anymore, and her impatience on when he was finally going to kiss her, behind that smile. She was confused by the latter, though. She wanted him to kiss her. But, if he kissed her, it would make it all the more difficult to accept that they might not be able to sustain a relationship. But then again.. it was only a kiss, right?

Rasi finished off his apple and threw the core behind him, wiping his face off on his sleeve and leaning his head on Vi's, "You know this forest was probably alive at one time..." He said gesturing to all the dead, naked trees around them. He sighed, also thinking what they were going to do when this was finished... He could let her bring him somewhere on her boat, he had always wanted to go sailing and he was planning on leaving anyways to go visit his family... He desperatly wanted to spend more time with her though, if it weren't for him wanting to discover the rest of Terror Mountain too he would already be long gone...

"Before what?" she inquired. "The biting cold robbed it of its life? How did they grow so tall in the first place? Doesn't Terror Mountain exist in perpetual winter, never to know the warmer side of life?"

Rasi looked at her, "I don't know, they had to be alive to grow this big... Maybe the world is getting colder or something, I really have no idea." He laughed at his own stupidness but the truth was he had never put much research in the plant life here but now that Vi mentioned it, it would be nice to see how the forest got here in the first place. Cold winds swept the forest floor, blowing the branches around. It really did bother him but he had gotten a habit of worrying about Vi now and who she felt, "Cold?" he asked, trying to come up with ideas in case she was...

"No more than usual," she added with a laugh. "My fingers will probably fall off sooner or later, and I can barely feel them now, but, oh well." She looked up at the sky. Snow was falling again; gently. "You know," she started randomly, "my mom--well, owner, but we all call her Mom--she says it's possible to love more than one person in your life. Not possible, but inevitable, she says. And she says you shouldn't engage in any sort of romantic activity unless you feel loved and love in return."
((ME: Psst! I really never said that. VI: *hits me over the head* What the heck? Yes you did! You say it all the time! ME: ^_^;; ))

Rasi took her hands in his own when she mentioned how cold they were and scooted closer to her. He was confused on her last statement though, "Well at the moment I can only think of one person I would want to love..." he said and looked at he with his icy eyes. He hope that the reason she said that was because she too felt the same things that he felt for her. He didn't know how she felt before that, she had never made a move to hold his hand and she seemed embarrassed every time he did anything that suggested romance... He wanted to clear things up but didn't really know what to say...

"Well, erm, I definitely feel loved," she said weakly, her stomach in knots. Did she really love Rasi? Could pirates do that? When she thought back to pirates she'd known personally or the famous ones, like Garin, she realized that while they were pirates, they were still human ((sorta )) and needed to be loved. Garin had his Isca lady, didn't he? She could remember that last party she went to... Yes, I think I love Rasi, she thought. I've only known him for a couple of days, but when I think about all of Mom's incessant lectures on love.... I think all the qualifications apply here.

Rasi smiled at her innocent response, "Good..." He said and thought about what he was about to say, she said she felt loved but did she really love him in return? He opened his mouth to say more but his throat felt like it was squeezing together tight as if it didn't want him to day those next three words that he wanted to say... He swallowed hard and just kept staring at her, wanting to tell her but just not able to get the words out...
