Ara scanned the machine for anything that looked like an off button. She found a big red button labelled "Do Not Press", but no off button.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Arathyne in the flesh," came a British voice from behind her. She gasped, and turned around. Leroy the Meepit was... a really big Meepit, actually, standing almost her height of 5'9". His mustache moved as he spoke. "You've come this far, but you won't go any farther. I will kill your friend, and make you my slave. The Meepits will prevail!"
"How can you see me??" she began to ask, but then, looking down, she saw an ash colored shirt and denim jeans and white sneakers. Had her invisibility worn off? She didn't feel like a breeze at all. "Oh, shit."

Cera barged into the room with her army of pets behind her, she froze when she saw Ara though. "That is the guy who wanted to zap you!" She cried out and pointed at Leroy. Everyone grew mad, just like Cera wanted and went after Leroy. She ran with them but ran to the machine instead. She scanned the buttons and clicked the one that looked most promising, it just happened to say 'DO NOT PRESS' on it though...

Ara knew something bad would happen if Cera pushed the big red button. She and Leroy said simultaneously, "Don't touch that button!" Leroy grinned wickedly at the mob and ran off, letting them chase him. But Ara knew that was wrong. And she was right, because the real Leroy suddenly pounced on her. She threw him off and yelled, "Cera, run!"
Leroy gripped something in his hand and charged after Cera. Ara's blood ran cold. She threw herself at him, and he brought the dagger down. It sliced into her shoulder. She yelled out in pain and gripped it. Blood seeped through her shirt and stained her hand.
((fyi: The other Leroy was a hologram-couldn't find the opportune moment to say it now.))

Cera ran to the shadow bori on her way to Ara, "Get everyone outta here NOW!" She ordered and then rushed to Ara and Leroy. "Get the hell off of her!" She screamed, hitting the oversized meepit on the side of the head with all the force she could muster in her fist. Anger, revenge, so many emotions filled her now; fear, worry, hate..... Some things she couldn't even identify...

Ara spun away from another swipe of the dagger. Leroy stumbled at Cera's hit, then grabbed her by one arm and raised the weapon. The air shifted and everything rumbled. Sharp gusts of wind blew in through the open doors and cracks to the outside world, wherever they could come from. Ara sent them all towards the knife in the Meepit's hand. As he brought it down, she quickly calculated where it would be in the next half a second and sent the wind there, so when the dagger came down, it landed right in the wind's path and was ripped out of Leroy's grasp. It flew around like the wind was a boomerang and landed in her hand.
"You leave Cera alone, you oversized bastard!" she yelled, pointing angrily at him with her free hand. She didn't bother with the tears that had sprung into her eyes when she had momentary fear that she'd miss and Cera would be killed. She flew upward on her wings and dive bombed at Leroy, smacking him against the ground. She took the dagger and hacked at his mustache. She knew it was odd to be doign such a thing, but she wasn't a murderer, and she knew he loved it. The whole thing fell off. It was fake.
"You little runt! How dare you!" Leroy stood up and threw Ara aside. She hit the wall and blacked out for the moment. The dagger flew from her hand. He grabbed it. "I will kill you!"
((Uh-oh, he's mad. Ara saved Cera, now she's gotta do something. *pokes metal pole Ara used to knock out the guards*))

Cera watched the whole scene, frozen with fear. Her whole heart stopped when Ara blacked out and she scrambled around for something, anything that would stop the mustache-less meepit. Her eyes fell upon a metal poll and Cera quickly swiped it up, charging at Leroy with everything she had, knowing if she missed now, she would have the rest of her life to make up for it. She poll rammed into Leroy's leg, definitely breaking it several times. Cera fell too, having put her whole body into pushing the poll.
She crawled to Ara; hoping, praying, that she was ok. She saw the rise and fall of Ara's chest and let out a sigh of relief.

Ara stirred slightly; years of training and being thrown against the wall made blackouts from being thrown against the wall short and nothing too serious. She opened her eyes. "You get him?" she asked Cera.

Cera looked over at the meepit and back at Ara, "Yeah I think so..." she said shaking her head, "Lets go..." She said, helping Ara up and picking up the poll again, "First lets get rid of this machine..." She said and hinted for her to help.

Ara stood and looked around at everything. She found and pocketed Leroy's dagger so it wouldn't be put to bad use again. She noticed Cera was still wearing her sweatshirt, but the invisibility had worn off, and could be seen. "Well, I flew around the whole thing, but I couldn't find an off button," she murmured. A noise came from behind her. She turned around, and before she knew it, Leroy was shoving her backwards. She fell against the red "DO NOT PUSH" button, and the machine surged.
Red light flashed and a mechanical female voice said, "Warning, warning. Activating terminal energy cubes. Headquarters will self destruct in 20 seconds."

Cera looked at Ara, "Well I think you found it!" She said grabbing Ara's arm and sprinting for the exit. Leroy's still lay there with his broken leg on the floor, cursing at himself. She really wanted just to leave him there "Ten, nine, eight..." but that would be killing him wouldn't it? "five, four, three..."

Ara looked back and forth quickly. Finally she realized it might not help Cera's conscience to leave the Meepit to die, though she sure didn't see reason to take him. She turned into wind, grabbed his wrist, making him wind, and then grabbed Cera and quickly shot down the hallway. An explosion was heard, and the fires and smoke were hot on their tail, but she shot forward and followed her glowing chalk arrows to the exit. They exited the caves and solidified suddenly, flying out and hitting the ground several feet away from another explosion that died away at the cave enterance. She shook her head and looked up, still lying on her stomach. They were back on the outskirts of Geraptiku, and the night sky lay above her, sky welcoming and stars brilliant. She noticed Leroy had shrunk to normal meepit size, and when he started cursing at her it was in petpet language and she could no longer understand him. She smiled slightly, then her head hit the moist leaves on the ground and her eyes closed, overcome with the weariness from the sudden return of the white-hot pain in her shoulder from when Leroy stabbed her and from her new powers that washed over her like an icy wave of sleep.

It all happened so fast Cera didn't know what to think about it... She sat there straight up, looking down at Ara and then over at the mini Leroy. She took the sweater off and turned Ara over slowly, not wishing to disturb her, and wrapped up her shoulder as best she she could with it. Then she turned to Leroy, "Not so big and bad not huh?" She said, knowing she wouldn't be able to understand the reply. "Maybe we should bring you to the Kadoatery so you can beg for food that is always too expensive for anyone to buy." Cera said lamely. They would have to find something to do with Leroy, he was less of a threat now that he was smaller but still.... She looked back at Ara, "You've got a good idea..." She said and layed down, exhausted from their world-saving experience.
