The ray fired, and the barrel slowly turned pink. The ray shut off, and there was nothing different about the barrel than its color.
"Hmm." Arathyne frowned. "This is too weird to just be for changing into a pink pet..."
The doors flew open and two pink Grarrls came out. Ara turned back to see them and gasped. They were on another side of the machine with some pets to zap. Suddenly, an idea struck in Ara's mind. "Wait a minute-," she grabbed Cera by the upper arm and whispered, "you're pink, aren't you?"

Cera went to the barrel and swiped a finger across it but the coloring didn't come off. She spun sharply around when the door opened and grew breathless. She about screamed when something grabbed her but then realized that it was Ara, she gave her a confused look, "Last time I checked I was..." She said but then figured out what her idea was. She looked over at the Grarrls and then back at Ara, "See all it does is change color!" she said pretending that she was demonstrating the machine for Ara she looked over at the Grarrls, "Oh sorry... My friend didn't think that the machine just changed color." She explained to the Grarrls hoping they were too stupid to not catch on.

Ara mentally kicked herself. This was not her plan at all. She had planned to attempt to turn herself invisible then follow Cera wherever she and the other pink pets were taken. She herself did not want to be pink, and by the weird, glazed look in the zapped pets' eyes, she had a strange feeling it was more than just a change of color. But maybe Cera had a smarter plan, so she decided to just go on with it.
"Hey, you're a fairy!" the first Grarrl pointed out. "Why aren't you with the other unzapped pets?"
"Uhhh... because... I just got here?" Ara answered dumbly. Maybe if they think I'm stupid, they'll be more lenient, she thought. "I saw this Bori here, she seems real smart, but I'm not know what this big gray thing does. She is telling me."

"Ummm, yeah you should get to the end of the line, all these other pets have been waiting and it is only right that you go to the end..." She said now panicking, "Here let me make sure you can get there..." She said grabbing Ara's arm and dragging her out to the door the other pets just came through. She hoped the plan in her head would work, because she kinda crushed Ara's plan accidentally....

The line was pretty long, which was good, and there were no guards at the end. Cera kept dragging Ara passed the end of the line and through the hallway. "Well we got away from those guys." She said looking around for an exit now. She hadn't really thought this all the way out, she just wanted to get away from the Grarrls before they were discovered but now that they were away from them she didn't know what to do...

"You might want to hide your wings," I told Cera quietly. "Otherwise they'll know you're different."
"Where do you think you're going, little missies?" A pink Mynci stood over them, an eyebrow raised.
Ara put a stupid grin on her face and said, "Hey, I can do that with my eyebrow too! Check it out." She lifted the left one and the right one went down. "Pretty cool, huh? Not many folks I know can do that."
The Mynci rolled his eyes. "You obviously have no intelligence, so you couldn't possibly be of any harm." To Cera he said, "And you, you're already zapped, so why are you still here?" He grumbled something that Ara caught as, "You stupid pink Bori." Ara growled, sudden anger firing up in her. The Mynci gripped Cera's upper arm firmly and pulled her out of the room. The tingling feeling returned in a flash of heat and she zipped towards the door, just barely squeezing through it as it slammed shut. She didn't seem to have legs, or arms or anything. She was pretty much air.

Cera's wings were already folded up inside their black protective covering and usually were when they weren't in use. She was about to say 'to the bathroom' when he asked where they were going but knowing their luck the bathroom would probably be on the other side of where they wanted to go. She wanted to pull away from the Mynci's grip but that might of given away their covering... She allowed herself to be brought wherever the Mynci was taking her, hoping that Ara might be able to get away...

The Mynci took Cera down a dank ((yes that's right, dank, not dark xD)) hallway. Ara followed, intent on figuring out what was going on around here and keeping Cera safe and out of too much trouble. I brought her here, she scolded herself. It's my responsibility to make sure she stays safe!
Cera was taken into another room, where millions of pink pets hung out in cages. They had a strange, unearthly look about them, and the glazed look in their eyes freaked Arathyne out. The Mynci led her over to a room, caged up and full of other pink Boris and put her inside.
"Now stay there," he told her sharply. "I'm going to go get your little fairy friend now. She won't be joining you in that cage unless one of you magically changes species." The Mynci turned and left both the Bori room and the main room.
Ara slipped in through the metal bars on the window of the door and sat next to Cera, trying to form herself together. She managed to solidify if not become visible. She realized that with this solid invisibility, her clothes were seen but her body was not.
"Cera, it's me," she whispered.
((Ughh.. hunger is a cause of short postaphobia XP you post something.))

Cera still didn't bother to tug away, she was becoming uneasy when she saw all the pets in cages though. When they arrived at the bori cage she resisted but the Mynci was a lot stronger than he appeared. He pushed, "Now stay there, I'm going to go get your little fairy friend. She won't be joining you in that cage unless one of you magically changes species." he said as he walked away. She looked at all the other boris and smiled slightly, their eyes all grew wide and they started backing away slowly.
"Cera, it's me," Something said beside her. She looked next to her and saw Ara's clothing floating in mid-air. "Ara? How did you get here and where is you body?" She said confused and worried.

"Apparently, I can become air," she said softly, eying the other Boris that sat huddled at a table in the corner farthest from them playing cards. "That's when none of me can be seen. But when I solidify and I'm still not visible, apparently it's just my body that's invisible. I'm trying to see if I can stay solid so I can touch things while making my clothes invisible too."

Cera still didn't understand, "Air?" She said lifting up and hand and seeing if she could feel Ara's shoulder. Her hand didn't go through Ara like she thought it would, "Yeah try that, then go get the key..." She said slowly still staring at the clothing in front of her. She brought her hand down and looked away at the other boris who were still staring at her like she was crazy.

She nodded, then, remembering Cera couldn't see her head, said, "Got it." She focused on turning the clothes invisible. After a few moments the tingling entered the fabric of her sweatshirt, making that invisible and showing her white shirt. She focused again and that vanished. Next went her shoes, and then her jeans. She touched the wall, making sure she was still solid, then stood up. She concentrated, thinking about becoming air and slipping through the bars. After a time, it worked. She became solid again, her clothes visible once more, and tried to get them unseen again. Finally they were, and then she walked over to the wall and grabbed a ring with a million keys latched onto it. She searched until she found one marked "BORI". She stuck that key into the lock and the door opened. "Cera, come on," she said, noticing the other pink Boris that began attacking each other to get towards the exit. "Hurry!"

Cera's first instinct was to fly, she zoomed out her wings beating fast. She grabbed Ara on the way out and continued to fly down the hall. She landed once she thought they were far away. "Ok those other boris will distract everyone we should be able to find a way out..." She said out of breath. She folded up her wings and looked around, they were in a dark hallway there was light farther up the hallway, "Which way do you want to go?"

"Let's go this way." Going at a run, she led Cera through several doors and rooms until they reached a dead end. She was still running and she looked around, thinking fast. An air vent with sounds like voices coming out of it was high up in the cieling. She grabbed Cera's wrist, still running, and closed her eyes. The tingling rushed quickly through her and Cera, and she shot up in the air and into the air vent, Ara directing her swiftly, keeping a firm grip on Cera's air-like wrist. "Don't let go," she yelled, her voice sounding like a ghostly whisper. It seemed that whoever she touched turned invisible or like air with her, which was all the better. She sailed through the vent, following the voices, until the found it. She dove through the vent exit into the room where the voices were. Her momentum slowed, but they crashed into the ground with an inaudible, their molecules slamming together painfully when they hit the ground. They had landed behind a pile of junk, with the source of the voices on the other side. She gasped for breath. The hit had been silent, but it knocked the wind out of her, and they both became visible.
"Sorry," she managed to choke out quietly when her voice came back.
