Lue stared at her own dog tag which was practically identical to his. Her words came to him as slurs. Another hybrid was pretty amazing to him. That hybrid being part lupe was incredible. The lupe hybrid coming from the same lab as him and actually knowing him was simply mind blowing. It took him a while just to rip his eyes away from the necklace and another few moments to come up with something to say. "You knew me back at the lab?" He asked, making sure he was hearing her right. It seemed impossible. How'd she remember him?

"Yes, I knew you. We were friends, sort of." She put away her tag and smiled shyly. "I'm glad to have found you," she said. "It's very rare to meet somebody from the lab. The reason I remember you is because... well... I escaped, after the lab was destroyed. That's why I still have my memories."

"And I wasn't...." Lue said already knowing how it went. "They erased the memories of the..." He stopped, unsure of what to call them, "hybrids that they let go." He crossed his arms across his chest. "So what was the lab like? What was I like?" he asked, he had wondered these thing for a long time. Did he act the same then as he does now? He was afraid that he was slamming her with questions but then again he didn't know how long she was staying on the train...

"Well I can't really tell you too much, but I can tell you that you were very nice and kind. However, you were really, erm, unintelligent." She smiled nervously, hoping she didn't offend him. "They didn't know if you would make it well on your own and often talked about giving you injections to make you smarter." Her hands tightened around the bag on her lap and she looked down at her whitening knuckles. "But I've seen what those injections do. They rarely work as they're supposed to. So as your friend, I couldn't let you get any. So they ended up just letting you go with the same level of intelligence as you had when you were made, figuring you'd either get smarter on your own or get yourself killed." She blushed. She felt like she was insulting him. "I'm sorry; that was rude. Did I offend you?"

Lue laughed, "Ha! Na, it's fine. I've never been much of a bookworm or anything like that. My owner tried to put me in school once and I dropped out." He shrugged. "I've never really been too bright." He chuckled again. So he didn't really change after all. He looked down at the book in Amma's lap, "I see you are quite a reader though." He pointed out, remembering that she had been reading it when he got on the train.

"Oh, yeah," she said with a small chuckle, pulling a book out of the bag. "It's what I do most of the time. I like to read. Fiction, non-fiction, doesn't matter which." She pulled out two more books. One was the Lupe anatomy book she'd been finishing and the other two were fiction books, one a fantasy novel she'd finished two hours ago and one a murder mystery she had yet to read. "I read fairly fast, too, and retain a lot of information, so it's easy to go through books as fast as I do." She blushed again.

Lue smiled and reached for the anatomy book. He flipped it open to a random page and set it on his lap, staring at the words and pictures. It showed the skeletal structure of the back leg and tail of a Lupe. "I can read. Just not very fast or well..." He continued staring at the page, "I usually just look at books for the pictures if I care to look at them at all." He frowned a bit and closed the book, glancing again at the cover before handing it back to her. "That's great that you like to read and whatnot.... I find it hard to concentrate on something like that." He shrugged again but added a small smile.

Amma blushed again at the compliment and brushed her white bangs behind her ear. "Thank you," she murmured. "There's not a lot else that I look forward to. The knowledge that there are more books out there for me to read helps me when things are kind of tough. Plus I can immerse myself in other worlds, instead of my own." She blushed again. "Heh, sorry."

Lue didn't really understand where she was going with that but he nodded and acted like he understood, "Yeah no problem." He said and smiled. "Soooo....." he said, trying to think of something he might be able to relate to. Nothing came to mind though except one thing. "Ummm, uh. Hey would you like to get together sometime? Like for lunch or something?" He said in a less confedent voice than earlier. He figured now that he had her flattered that he might have a better chance in her saying yes.

That really threw Amma off guard, but she was pleased and blushed yet again. "Ummm, sure, that sounds lovely." ((Lovely... hehehe... Remember, she's a Brit ^_^)) She smiled shyly. "Well now that I've found you I certainly can't go to where I was headed! Where are you going?"

A huge smile broke across Lue's face when she agreed to join him, "Me going?" he said and looked around, "I'm heading home to Neopia." he said, slightly confused, "You're coming with me?" He said as another smile formed, replacing the confused expression. "I'm not in much of a hurry... If you need to be somewhere I can tag along." He said, not really caring where he was going as long as got to stay with her some more.

"No, no, that's quite all right, I wasn't going anywhere," she said truthfully. "I was just going to get off wherever seemed good. I'd love to see where you live." She smiled bigger now, and playfully elbowed him in the side. She giggled shyly.

Lue smiled too but in the back of his mind he was thinking about how all of his family might take this. Him bringing a girl home? That was like nonsense to them. He might want to call Sarah before hand to let her know that she was going to have extra company. "Ha, ok." He said and then looked up at the digital sign which now said, 'Next stop: Neopia; 5 min remaining' "It looks like we're about to get off then." He said and looked around, "Do you have all your stuff?" he asked

"Yes," she said, putting everything back into her bag and strapped it around her shoulder. "I'm all ready to go." She smiled and asked, "So, how long have you lived in Neopia? It must be exciting; I haven't been to a large city for quite some time now."
((I forget, is this set pre-Devastation or post-Devastation?))
