((Yeah I forgot that the building that Ku went into was a gas station XP )) Ieno backed into the shadows when the two came sprinting out of the gas station. The black creature that he had seen from the window was in the lead, but not for long as the infected Eerie came up behind him and pinned him to the ground. Ieno brought his gun up for aiming but his target was twisting and moving around so much he couldn't get a clear shot. He glanced back into the doorway of the gas station, other growls and murmurs could be heard from inside which nerved him. He moved out from his hiding place and into the moonlight that was slowly being taken over by the dark rainclouds overhead. The two continued to struggle in the street, the pale Eerie seeming much more determined to get it's meal than the dark creature did to keep it's life. Ieno made his way closer, keeping an eye on the entrance of the gas station to make sure he didn't get any surprise unwanted company. The Eerie snapped at the other's head, extremely close to taking an eye out. Ieno was close enough now, about a hundred or so feet away. He pointed his gun again at the two and fired. The bullet smashed right into the Eerie's shoulder, knocking him back off of the other creature. It let out a loud squawk and then narrowed it's eyes on Ieno. Ieno only smiled when the creature came charging at him next and then fired again, hitting the zombie right between the eyes.

((lol, don't make your lupe a' splode. XD))
At first, the shogra didn't know what had happened. A shot had rung out, and his joints twitched uncontrollably. At first he didn't even realize that the zombie had been blown off him, as if the weight off him wasn't clue enough. It took him opening his eyes fully and looking around frantically before he saw the other creature. There was another shot, and the beast fell dead at the other hybrid's feet.
He was still flat on his back; he flipped his legs over his head and rolled in the most uncomfortable manner so that he ended up on his knees, and from his knees he leapt to his feet. Panting heavily, the shogru stared at the stranger in suspicion, but a sudden growl coming from inside the building caused him to snap his head in that direction.
"We gotta get outa here." It wasn't exactly a formal introduction, but they didn't have time for that.

((huh?? lol BOOOM!!!!?))
Ieno looked over at the stranger he just saved. He definitely wasn't one of the regular species, maybe another hybrid? Ieno smiled internally at the thought of that, "Yeah this way..." He said, glancing back at the gas stations as angered growls and screeches could be heard from inside the dark entrance. A light misty rain slowly started to fall as the clouds gave in, Ieno grumbled to himself and ruffled his wings. In less than a minute though the light mist turned to a steady fall and then a downpour of water. He quickened his pace, not enjoying the rain at all. He got to his building and opened the door, leaving it open for his visitor while he unloaded the gun and placed it back in the table. "So, watch'r name?" He asked as he turned to locked the door behind the other hybrid.

((lol. Guns. Gas. Doesn't sound like a good mix.))
The shogra slowed as soon as the rain began falling down in sheets upon them, and tilted his snout up toward the sky. He rather liked the rain, odd for someone who was part cat. Of course, his mother also liked the rain, so that might have something to do with it. He watched as lightning stretched across the sky, slowly following behind the other hybrid.
Right as he reached the door, a black crokabek swooped down and landed on his shoulder; apparently his pet didn't care to be caught out in the rain. Facing the hybrid once inside, the shogra skritched his feathered friend around the neck. "They call me the Kuvah Magh," his voice naturally had a growl to it. "And just what are you supposed to be?" He just had to ask that, didn't he. He couldn't ask who the other guy was, nope; he had to ask what the other guy was. It had been a question nagging him since he first saw Ieno. To his knowledge, all of the 'normal' neopets had been taken over by the virus, so he assumed this guy had to be a hybrid like him...But, he looked like a lupe to him; he didn't really look like a hybrid.

((Eh, with all the running and stuff I pictured them in the street in front of the gas station, but yeah -shrug- i didn't think of that.))
"My name is Ieno, thanks for asking." He grumbled, heading up the stairs. Once he got to the top he took off his jacket and threw it aside, "I'm a lupe/scorchio hybrid." He clarified, "You?" He asked looking over his visitor. The room they had just entered was a large kitchen/living room. Clothes and outdated newspapers cluttered the floor but other than that it was pretty much clean. There were hardly any decorations but a couple of candles and a few pictures. The kitchen was well stocked. The pantry was overflowing with canned goods that he had gathered up from various places. He had lots of cooking supplies and just about everything when it came to utensils. It was dark though, the curtains were drawn together and the lights that were on were very dim.

"A lupe/scorchio hybrid, you say?" He chuckled at the thought, picturing the two species going at it. He might have asked how a dragon and a dog managed to have a kid together, but he wasn't really one to talk since his parents were an odd couple as well. "I myself am a kougra/shoyru hybrid." He paused to look around the room; his crokabak flew off his shoulder and landed on one of the arms of the couch, perching and making himself comfortable for the night. "Tell me, sir, of your parents." His eyes finally drifted back to the lupe-like creature, curiosity overtaking him.
Curled in his fingers, he still held the full box of cigarettes, tightly and triumphantly. Not only had he managed to get his fix, he managed to do it unscathed. Ieno should probably get at least a ‘thank you’ for the act, but the thought of actually thanking the man never even crossed his mind.

"My parents?" Ieno repeated chuckling a bit, "I would tell you if I knew..." He said, walking around and falling down on one of the couches. "I was an experiment. They were trying to come up with a stronger lupe for defenses and got me..." He explained, feeling like a broken record. He had told this story millions of times to who knows how many people. It used to bother him when he wasn't too clear about it. Lue, his other side, didn't really know anything about how he was created... Ieno knew it all though, the whole story. "I guess I wasn't what they were looking for though." He said smiling to himself. Lue definitely wasn't a weapon but he was. "What about you and uh, your parents?" he asked, changing the direction of the conversation.

Ku grinned smugly, “Well, I guess you could say I’m an experiment as well. Thin’ is, I wasn’t created in a laboratory.” He paused, debating on how to explain. “My mother was half vampire, and my father half demon. When the dark faerie found out, she, well, decided that their DNA combined would make an excellent soldier in her army. Only thin’ is, after a while she couldn’t control me anymore.” He smiled proudly, “and I escaped. She wanted to create the perfect warrior, trouble is, she succeeded."

Ieno chuckled, "Seems so..." He said not wanting to create a bragging battle. His little situation was hard enough to deal with and even harder to explain. He didn't need strangers knowing his story. "So you think us hybrids are safe then? I mean, I'm not infected. You don't seem to be..." He said and looked over at him from his place on the couch. "I've been bit before and nothing has happened..." He said and looked down at his arm where a small patch of fur seemed to be missing where a scar was. "Know of any other survivors?

(('Tis fine with me, and it could be that her chacter was just lucky enough not to come in contact with one of the zombie people yet, so she/he wouldn't be infected.))
Ku momentarily tilted his snout up, looking up at the ceiling; this placed seemed to have that old cottage feel to it, especially at night. Ku moved toward the window, and stared blankly at it, even though he couldn't see through it because of the metal doors that had been latched in front of it. "I have yet to be bitten," Ku started to reply, his voice sounding distant, "But I have come in close contact with them several times. And, I have a theory to the hybrid thing. At first I wasn't sure how accurate it was, but after coming across you, there's no doubt in my mind." He paused, turning his head to the couch where Ieno and his petpet perched. "It is my theory that mixed DNA is too strong for the virus to...erm, take over, to put it in non-technical terms."
A sudden clap of thunder raddled the walls. The sound spooked the bird on the arm rest of the couch, whose head had been tucked under his wing but was now erect and looking around frantically.
"It's going to be a long night," Ku muttered under his breath.

"Yeah..." Ieno agreed, sighing and leaning back against the pillows on the couch. "Well if you're hungry there is food in the kitchen." He said pointing to the pantry that was overflowing with canned goods. "I have movies as well and if your tired there is a bed around the corner." He suggested and reached over to the table to grab the remote before settling back down further on the couch. He flicked the TV on and pressed 'play' on the DVD remote. The movie was right in the middle of a high speed car chase which was perfect to drown out the thunder in the background.

Ku glanced toward the kitchen, giving Ieno a sharp nod before leaving the room. He stood on his toes as he opened the cabinets above his head, even though he was tall enough to reach them without the extra leverage. Nothing really looked all that appetizing to him, but it had been a few days since he had eaten, so he wasn't going to be too picky. Thanks to his father, he had all the organs of a regular person, unfortunately for him.
Reaching above his head, he grabbed three cans of tuna. He found a loaf of bread down below, un-tied it, and grabbed a single piece. With food in hand, he walked back to the living room. He bit down on the corner of the bread before reaching down toward his petpet, forcing his hand under the bird's stomach to force it to step up onto his hand. He then placed the bird on his shoulder, and perched himself on the arm of the couch. "Hungry?" He asked, handing the bird the piece of bread, who nibbled on it.
His attention momentarily turned to the TV, watching the car chase with slight interest. He shrugged the shoulder his petpet wasn't on, looked back down at his food thinking that this movie was better than something like Shrek. He had one can of tuna in his hand, the other two settled beside him. The black claws on one of his hands elongated, forming into tiny razor-sharp daggers, which he used to peel the lid of the tin can back like a banana. Grinning slightly, he stuck the claw of his index finger into the tuna, and sucked the tuna right off his finger.

Ku was making quite the racket with his opening and sucking of tuna. The smell of the canned fish was strong too, making the movie not as enjoyable. The smell of food did set off his stomach though and a deep growl erupted from it. He sighed and got up, walking over to the kitchen, "Sorry about the odd selection." He said and grabbed a can of something off of the shelf. He had stopped caring about what the contents of the cans were for it didn't matter as long as it cured his hunger.
