Ieno is triggered by a blast of strong emotion. The three big ones are:
-confusion
-anger
-excitement
He will change back after a period of time, he's knocked out, or until he's calmed down enough. After changing Lue is sore, weak, and doesn't remember anything. He usually had a killer headache as well.
If Ieno is triggered by anger, he usually won't hurt anyone other than the person who pissed him off. He still has the feelings that Lue has. So say if Cera was getting attacked by a flying monkey and the monkey threw poo at Lue which pissed him off and made him go Ieno-mode. Ieno knows that Cera is part of his family and that he cares deeply about her. However he could care less about the monkey...
If Ieno is triggered by excitment (via a fight, someone he cares about needs rescuing, yadda yadda yadda), he will only stay Ieno-tized for that moment then go back little ol' Lue.
With confusion it depends. The confusion will have to create a lot of agitation and annoyance for it to really change him. For example: Sarah is trying to teach him math and he doesn't understand why 2+2=4. Lue gets irritated and goes all Ieno on his math homework. Sarah then has to tell the teacher that her mutant dog ate the homework....
Lue doesn't remember anything that happens while he is Ieno automatically. He does, however, see certain flashbacks. For example: Ieno goes in the kitchen, eats all the cereal, and leaves a big mess. The next morning, Lue goes to the kitchen to get some water to take with his Advil and sees cereal everywhere. At that time he might have a flashback of him tearing open Captain Crunch boxes. These flashbacks are dim though and, to him, seem like a weird dream. He is suspicious though cause he knows something happened between the time he was knocked out (turned into Ieno) and woken up (turned into Lue).
