Saluki continued smiling up at the faces above her, then suddenly whirled around. Her face fell. "Where'd the light go?" She cocked her head, then headed towards where the light had formerly been, before kneeling down and gazing into the blackness. "Hello? Light?" she called quietly, then stood up again, looking behind rocks and such.

Confused by where the light went,Aki answered Saluki's question. "I don't know," he replied.'We should have seen this coming' he thoght, when he heard a strange voice...

Azura stood there ans watched all the commotion, she had no idea what was going on. All she knew is that those two pets had fallen into the hole to look at some light but now the light was gone... "Well now that the light is gone do you think we could get you out of there now?" She asked, worrying about what all was down there. They would have company down in that hole and not the good kind of company... Azura backed away from the hole and started to look around for a rope or something they could use to pull them out with. All the shops were still closed at this hour, besides the coffee shops, and there wasn't really anything they could use.....

The Xweetok observes the Gelert and Lupe carefully with her night-vision. Are they a threat? Are they hunters? She was on the run from one such hunter when she fell in this hole.
I can check, she thinks accidentally. I can check their minds and see.
No, she won't do it. Reading minds is disgusting and is a power that should not be used. But still... maybe, maybe, while she's marked as prey, it's okay. Maybe it's okay to check and be safe.
She looks at them and shifts through the mind of the Lupe first, carefully, so as to not disturb any thoughts or memories. She finds that the Lupe is named Aki and finds some childhood memories, but nothing of the witch-hunting sort, so she turns her focus to the Gelert. Her name is Saluki and her mind is very jumbled and unorganized. It is difficult for the Xweetok to work through it. But eventually she's satisfied that neither of them are hunters, so it's okay to expose herself.
She steps out from behind the pillar and lets her flaming mane and tail burn, the flames partially illuminating herself.

Feeling a little dizzy all of a sudden, Aki noticed a flaming xweetok in the distance. Seeing as this creature looked harmless, he continued walking in its direction.Mucles flexed and a cautious look in his eye, he asked a question that was sure not to afend the neopet.Before asking he glanced back at Saluki and then back to the xweetok. "How did you happen to end up down here?"

"I fell," replies the Xweetok simply. "But never mind that." She smiles sweetly. "My name is Tahtrei. But please, do call me Trei for short. I apologize if my light scared you into falling"--this she catches with an assumption of her own, not through mind-reading--"I meant no harm."

Ivon leapt off his saddle, keeping a hand on Empathy's reigns and digging through his saddlebag. Sure enough he had a rope stored there for emergencies, and he pulled it out with a flourish. He walked over, looking back into the hole and noticing the other voice. There was a new dim orange glow, and his large ears picked up what the new voice probably originating from it was saying easily.
"If you need assistant getting out of this hole, I'm sure I'll be able to provide." He said, starting to unravel the rope to toss it in. He turned to the kourgra standing nearby.
"I would appreciate it if you could assist me, m'lady, when it comes to pulling them out."

Azura nodded, she was planning on helping anyways, "Yes, of course." She said and looked back in the hole, "Knot the rope at the end tightly then grab as high as you can. Tell us before you put your weight on it and lock your legs above the knot." She called down to them. She was very handy when it came to things like this. She used to camp a lot so she knew what to do. She went over to Ivon and grabbed on to the rope in front of him, "ya ready?" She asked with a small smile.

"HI TREI!" said Saluki very loudly and ecstatically, stunned into silence for awhile to stare raptly at the flames about the xweetok. "You fell in too?" She asked, cocking her head to stare wide eyed at the xweetok. "Why?"
Without waiting for a response, she suddenly twitches at the sound of voices and turns around to see the rope being lowered. "Oooh, look, they're gonna help us!" she said, nodding a few times. "Did I ever get your names?" the gelert asked, looking up at the kougra and other xweetok. "I'm Saluki..."

"Zvonimir, m'lady." he answered Saluki with a small bow. It was somewhat hindered by the rope, but otherwise kept it's formality. His ears twitched as he listened to Aki and Trei talking. He was begining to wonder if he had gotten the rope out for nothing, but he didn't question them yet.

"And I'm Azura!" She yelled down the the threesome after Ivon made his introduction. She could pick up a little bit of the conversation below but not enough to really understand what was going on... All she really knew now was that the glow was a person and she wanted to stay for some reason. She started to grow impatient as she held the rope down, wondering if anyone was going to take it...

"Hi Azura! Hi... Zee-von-oh-meer!" she called up, carefully sounding out the xweetok's name, then smiled as thought she pronounced it decently enough.
"Underground tunnels?" Saluki said excitedly, "Maybe we can help!" She looked up to the two standing above them, "Maybe you should help too! And we can find it so Trei can get out of this hole!" She added, nodding happily with this logic.
