Ku smiled and stretched; he was very competetive.
"Hope you guys like to eat dust," he said cheekily, flashing a few of his canines. "Cos, frankly, you're gonna be choking on it."
They all settled into a line next to a tree.
Ku stood ready, his eyes darting in all directions for possible routes to take. He could cheat, using the trees to his advantage or he could run with everyone else. Ku glanced at Abby.
He doubted she'd run very fast on the ground, considering those wings. They'd be clumsy and she could injure herself easily against a rock or tree with them.
Lue, on the other hand, seemed to be built for speed. His lupine muscles combined with a scorchio's determination seemed unbeatable.
Well almost, Ku thought. There's still me.

Lue smiled, running was definatly his thing, he couldn't fly like Abby or swing from trees like Ku so he had spent most of his like on ground. He couched down in a running position, his muscles were tence waiting for his ok to bolt. He looked on either side of him, seeing if they were even close to being ready. "Don't worry I've already eaten but you on the other hand..." He said flashing a competetive smile, oh he was going to win this with minutes to spare!

Abby rolled her eyes as she got into position, noting both of the male's competitive natures. 'Men, I swear' she thought. She crouched down, but was completely relaxed about this. She wasn't nearly as competitive as the other two seemed to be, and didn't really care if she won or lost. She was really only interested in having fun, and getting Lue to feel better about himself. But she wouldn't let him win either, that wouldn't be much fun now would it? "Alright, on your mark....get set....Go!" She yelled before bolting out of line and through the forest.

Lue let out a laugh he bolted forward, he hasn't had this much fun in ages and it had this much fun in ages. Lue lowered his head and slicked back his winds as he progressed forward, gaining speed with each hit of his legs to the ground. His legs started out off key moving and doing whatever it took to get him started but then they began to create a rhythm of movement as he progressed on. His fluffy spiked tail bounced around behind him as it was being pulled ahead with the rest of his body. He smiled and took a glance back realizing that they actually weren't that far behind him, actually they uncomfortably close to him...

Hearing Lue laugh made Abby smile. She was glad to see he was having fun. She wasn't surprised that he was ahead of her. Unless she started using a few of her vampiric talents, she was kind of slow. But she had no intentions on calling upon those talents. And it didn't really matter how far ahead of her they got; she would catch up to them once they tired out. Which she knew they would do, eventually, but she could run forever without tiring out. Also any injuries she sustained would automatically heal themselves, she didn't have to worry about being careful about hurting herself.

Ku's mind was working faster than he was. His thin, muscular frame pounded against the dirt, dodging trees and rocks on the way. His stamina was perfect; he needed it in the forest.
He caught Lue's eye and whipped a flawless, mischevious grin. Dust flew up from all the neopet's feet, clouding the forest behind them. Ku continued to run, his heart thudding in his ears.
All three continued to run, until they passed the forest's edge. A large, wild plain stretched before them, carpeted with long, green-brown grass, bending slightly in the wind. Ku tripped on a rock and landed head-first towards a mouthful of grass.
It was somewhat darker than expected - and it was silent. Where was the village that Abby had spotted from the skies?

Lue stopped when he heard Ku go crashing into the ground, "I thought you said you wern't hungry?" He said laughing at the amount of grass he had in his mouth. He looked back into the forest wondering if Abby could go out in this amount of sun. The forest was dark and cool but out here in the field was a different story. There was nothing stopping the sunrays from heating up whatever it touched...

Abby hadn't paid any attention to the sun as she bolted out of the tree line, and she didn't feel anything at first. She just kept running, and nearly tripped over Ku, but she was able to flap her wings and jump over him. She turned around to face him, and couldn't help but giggle. "Dude, are you okay? You took quite a tumble there" she said as she helped him up. It wasn't until after she had been standing there a minute that she realized how much pain she was in. Her happy mood quickly turned to one of utter misery. Her ears went flat against her skull, and she gave a muffled curse as she used her wings to cover up her head as best as she could.

Ku spat out the grass and blushed. Great, he'd made an idiot out of himself.. again.
Seeing Abby in pain, he glanced around quickly for the nearset tree.. but there was none. It was an endless field, and the only trees were behind them.

Lue ran over to her and used his wings and tail to cover up as much of her as he possably could, "Come on lets get you back in the forest..." He said nudging her back in the direction of the forest they had all just burst out of. "I'm sorry I should have warned you about that..." He said walking as fast as he could while still covering her.

Abby stopped and shook her head, forcing a smile. "No, it's okay. Don't worry about it. I'm fine, I swear" she lied. "Let's just keep going. I know you two have been dieing to get out of that forest, and this isn't something I'm going to die from." She continued giving a warm smile as she uncovered herself to prove she was fine. She shouldn't have let it be known she was in pain in the first place, and now she was sorry she had. She didn't want anyone changing their plans for her, and this was something she could live with.

"Are you sure?" Lue said not letting his wings down until he was fully convinced that she was ok. He rather be in the forest too a matter of fact, his dark fur and the beating down of the sun didn't quite make a nice pair. He was already starting to get hot and he wasn't even running anymore...
