Abby nodded and continued smiling. "I'm sure, trust me" she replied, lying her butt off. But one thing she hated more than anything was people treating her like being part vampire was a bad thing. Sure the sun was painful and she would shrivel up and die if she went anywhere near silver. And sure she was hunted by lycans constantly, but she didn't consider those faults, and didn't want anyone else to think of them that way. The only thing she really disliked was the fact that she couldn't have children.

Lue slowly lowered his wings and folded them across his back again. "Ok..." He said and turned around and started trotting back over where Ku was. He started panting, letting his long tounge hang out of the side of his mouth, to get his body temperature back down. "Shall we continue on? The village shouldn't be that far away..." he said wagging his tail as he thought about getting out of this wilderness.

Abby smiled as she followed behind Lue. 'Well what do you know, it worked' she thought. Either she was a lot better at lying than she thought she was, or Lue was way too trusting. Either way, that would come in handy in the future. She sat down and twitched her tail back and forth once they reached Ku. She was also looking forward to getting back to civilization again; she was tired of trudging through the woods.

Ku hadn't said anything when Abby had been in pain. He hated to see things in pain, unless it was purposeful, and it was by his own paw. Ku could tell she was an expert - she'd lied many times before. Trust me. Ku could count his toes on all four paws at how many times he'd used that line.
"Uh, sure. Let's go." He started off quietly through the long grass. He could hear a few plain birds and fieldmice in the grass. The bushy tail twitched anxiously. She'd mention before how much pain the sun caused her, why would it not matter now? Considering she healed herself easily anyway, he guessed it wouldn't matter, but was there such reason to lie if she was in pain?

Lue chugged on through the tall grass causing bugs to fly up and scatter with each step. He figured that if Abby didn't want his help about the whole sun thing than he wasn't going to argue about it with her. He was in a much better mood now, he didn't know if it was the sun or that that race had unburied a some weird secret energy source in him. He wagged his tail and sniffed the ground happily, there had definatly been other people around here so they were getting close.

Abby followed behind the two males once again, but she didn't mind, she was getting used to being in the back. She kept a smile on her face despite how much pain she was in; if she didn't her lie wouldn't have been very believable. She felt like she was on fire, not just by or around fire, but actually on fire. She almost felt bad about lying to them though...almost. But she figured her physical condition was none of their business, and until it became their business, she would continue to lie about it. She was pretty good at lying, better than she would care to admit. And she honestly didn't think it would become their business until nights of a full moon. "Hmm, awkward silence" she said, after realizing how long they had gone without verbal communication.

Lue looked back at her and slowed down so that he was even with her, “Well is there anything you would like to talk about?” He said not concerned about the silence, he actually liked it, the bird and bugs all chirping in melody… He really didn’t like to start conversations because they turned out to be about weird things like eating or something stupid like that.

Abby shrugged, there really wasn't anything that she wanted to talk about; anything would have been fine with her. "Oh, not really. I would like to know a little more about the two of you, but if that makes either of you uncomfortable then forget I asked. But I'd kinda like to know if either of you have any family out there, or if you're just wondering around by yourself." She wasn't sure why she was so curious, but she really did want to know if anyone was missing them.

That really wasn't Lue's favorite subject when it came to conversations, "I ran away from my family... I have been on my own for about ten years now and I have been perfectly fine without them." He said stubbornly. He never did care for his family anyway. He was an only child and the only one who really cared about him was his mom but even then she didn’t like to call him her own around others. His dad was always depressed he never saw him anyways so he wasn’t worth any of Lue’s time. Lue looked over at Ku, curious about his answer he must have a mynci or something in his family line to be so involved in climbing trees. Maybe xweetok? That would explain the fluffy tail….

Ku noticed them both looking at him expectantly and rolled his eyes. "I suppose you all want to hear about my family?" There was a pause. "Okay, okay. Sit down, cos this is a long and probably boring tale." The grass was long enough to be shaded comfortably from the sun if one lay down at the right angle; Ku did so to get the glare out of his eyes. "First of all, I'm not from around here. Anywhere near from here. I was part of a very large pride of travellers, and we originated from somewhere in the Eastern Quadrant of the Lost Desert." He smiled a little. He could almost feel the family, the afternoon nothern wind, with the silken tents set up in a campsite in some village, the fire was roaring, and the scent of herbs, spices and exotic foods. "I was born to the new leaders, my father and my mother. The previous King had died by my fathers' paw, but the death was suspicious. The death was not on good terms. One of our seers -" Ku coughed. "- ahem, sorry. 'Seers' or so they called themselves, are a load of baloney. Anyway, one of them declared this death as a bad omen, and that every heir to the leader's role would be cursed, or die as a cub.Naturally, in a gypsy pride like ours, you believe that sort of junk. But no, my father, being proud as he was, ignored her. So they ruled for a few years without anything superstitous." Ku shifted uncomfortably. He'd told this so many times before, but this was always the part he disliked. "Then I was born. Unlike all other cubs born into the gypsies, I was black. Pure black. All other cubs are born with their base colour, with semi-faded stripes at least. That Seer exclaimed I would die, but I didn't." "So, they came upon the conclusion that I was 'cursed' or something. My Father wanted me to be killed, or else left behind when we travelled next. My mother wouldn't hear of it, so I was raised against dark looks and shaded eyes. They left me roughly three years ago."
" I have never seen them since." Ku stared determindely at a pebble, refusing to look either Lue or Abby in the eye.

Lue thought about it, why was he so happy all the time if this what was his past was like? It was pretty confusing but Lue caught on to what happened in the end, "So your like some kind of Price or whatever?" He said trying to clear things up in his head. So Abby was a Vampire, Ku was a 'cursed' Prince of some weird gypsy people and Lue himself was screwed up all together, it seemed pretty weird that a bunch of misfits out just happen to end up here and be traveling with eachother...

Ku recoiled slightly at the mention of 'prince'. "I am in no way part of their pride. They've probably forgotten me already anyway." He rolled onto his back and laughed. "Though technically, I am a prince." He pointed to Lue and laughed. "I, as prince, order you to carry me out of this field!"

Lue raised an eyebrow but then smiled, "Ok, your majesty..." He stood up, grabbed Ku and threw him over his shoulder. "Onward!" He said, bumping Ku so that he was on his shoulder better and started chugging through the grass again.

Abby tilted her head when Ku laid down. She hadn't meant that they should stop to talk; she meant that they should talk to make the walking less boring. But she would take any chance given to get out of the sun so she laid down to listen. She found it odd when he said he had been born all black; he wasn't all black anymore. But she didn't want to interrupt so she stayed quiet and kept listening; figuring she could ask later. She had almost felt sorry for him; right up until he had told Lue to carry him out of here. She figured he was only kidding, but it still bothered her. However, he hadn't been talking to her so she would just keep her mouth shut about it.

"Ah, you shall be my noble steed." he said, patting Lue awkwardly on the head and getting off, still grinning. It was a fairly warm day, crickets were calling in the grass, and the ground was dry. "Are you ok?" he said, casting a sidewards glance at Abby. "You seem troubled."
