She couldn't look at him. A lot of things were bothering her, so after a time, she pulled up one of those things, a big thing, and said it. "I... I'm so sorry you got all entwined in this stupid mess," she said quietly, looking at her boots. "What with me missing my eyesight for a while, and not being able to remember anything... I half expected you to leave me stranded the whole time we were coming here because you couldn't take it. Especially when those pirate guys came.. then, I was sure you'd take off and leave me in the dark."

That hurt... Rasi frowned, "I would never do that to anyone... To let someone freeze to death..." He shuddered, seeing it happen many times before, "It wasn't like it was your fault you lost your vision and memory..." He pointed out, trying to figure out why she would think something like this. He had tried to do everything he could for her to help her get her eyesight back and memory, did he do something wrong....? Maybe others had done it to her in the past...

She rubbed her arms. "I'm sorry. I just kept feeling... I don't know, that you would build up my trust to the point where I let my guard down, and then once I did..." One slow tear fell from her eye and down her cheek. "I really am sorry for thinking that. Maybe it was that I couldn't see you, was the problem."

Rasi shook his head, raising a hand to wipe her tear, "Shhhh, It's ok..." he said not wanting to see her cry, "Everything will be fine once we finish this quest..." He whispered, pulling her head to his chest and hugging her. He had never thought about what it would be like to travel around with someone you couldn't see or didn't know... He would probably not trust that person either... "Shhh, I understand..." He said just holding her.

But that was just the thing--he didn't understand. And as far as she knew, he never would understand. Nobody except others who couldn't see would understand the trauma of forever fear seizing your chest, not knowing if someone was approaching with a knife or not.
Cut me and I bleed blood as red as my flesh... She looked at her fingers. What of a red Neopet? But then the last bit made no sense.

Deny it as she would, her heart was not stone. She felt things, and she had a conscious, though a weak, small one.

((No I was tired because it was 11:20 at night when I wrote that xDDDDD))
He held on to Vi, not because she was still crying but because he wanted to... He couldn't imagine how that experience was for her and he wish he could so that he could halfway understand the problems that she had gone through. She was strong in that she stayed with him through her fear and weakness. He had no other soothing word though, he tried, but that was all he could do to help her...

((Ohhhhhhhh *understands* Well, I'm really sore from falling numerous times yesterday. XP))
It was pitch black outside by now. The storm had worsened, and the door to outside felt like it was rattling on its hinges. Taelia stomped through the room and pushed on the door. A thin layer of ice surrounded the outer edges of the door. Strangely, after Taelia returned to her back room, the ice on the door didn't melt, and it stayed firm and steady.
Vi was exhausted. She leaned her head on Rasi's shoulder, and whispered, "I need to go to sleep, really." The nap thing had been nothing but a joke. She'd been in that back room for only twenty minutes, but she really was tired. She grabbed a blanket that happened to be lying on the floor and curled it around herself as she shrank to the other side of the little couch, put her head on the armrest, and fell right to sleep.
((I can never tell if Rasi wants to 'cuddle' with Vi, or if he thinks it's a pain.))

Rasi smiled, understandingly, he had become tired after that nap. He wanted to lay down right next top her but the couch was so small and he didn't know if Vi liked him enough for him to do so... He sighed and got up, grabbing another bottle of water from the fridge and walking into the back room where Taelia was. "You would happen to have a guest room anywhere would you?" He asked hoping they could sleep comfortably in a bed instead of squished up on the couch.

Taelia looked up. "Hmm? Oh, yes. It's nothing much, up in the attic. It's colder up there, and you'll have to use the trapdoor, but there's a few mattresses and a lantern lying around up there."

Once Taelia said the word 'colder' Rasi was all up for it, "Ummmm, ok that sounds great thanks!" He said and walked back to the living room. He hoped Vi wouldn't mind him sleeping up there, "Hey Vi..." He said nudging her shoulder lightly, "Vi..." He whispered louder.

Rasi smiled, "I am going to go sleep in the attic, there are some mattresses up there and it is slighly colder..." He said hoping Vi would jion her but not minding if she didn't. "You can stay here if you want or whatever..."

She rolled off the couch, the blanket still around her. She stood, and nodded, and followed him to a dead end in a hallway. She pulled down the latch to the trapdoor that hung, and a ladder fell below. She climbed up it and into the room.
There were actually only a few matresses up there, and not too many were all that comfortable. Vi lied down on all of them, and found the comfiest one. She stood, pointed at it, and said to Rasi, "This one is best." Then she crept onto one of the less comfy ones and curled up there.

Rasi smiled, walking over to Vi and picking her up while she was still wrapped in the blanket, "Then we'll share it..." He said falling down on it, letting her fall down next to him. He didn't want her to leave him the best mattress, and if she didn't want him on there with her than he would be the one to leave. She was the lady after all...

Her eyes widened and she stiffened when he picked her up and put her next to him on the same mattress, then she relaxed. A small smile formed on her face, and then she closed her eyes again. "Thank you," she whispered, so quietly she could barely hear it herself.
