Niko narrowed his eyes. A cold smirk grew on his face. He leaned in, face close to Willefethen's so he could be sure he smelled every foul breath of his. "Oh, I mind," he told the Aisha, his voice dangerously quiet. "And I'll call you whatever I want. You know why? Because you're on my ship now, and what I say goes. You're my prisoner." He straightened, and barked to the Grarrl from earlier, "Sharpclaw! Throw Willefethen here into the brig. He's not to come out at all today, and he's not to be fed, either."
The Grarrl called Sharpclaw came and took the prisoner down into the brig, his sharp claws nearly scratching the poor Aisha.

Will squirmed in Sharpclaw's grip, trying hard to get free, but the Grarrl was just too strong for him. He looked back at the pirate captain and spat, "You'll pay for this, you hear me? I'll make you pay!"

Niko laughed. "Pay? Hah! How are you going to punish me for this? According to the boys who brought you up here, you can't swim. I can, however. You're in my element, boy. And so long as you are, you're powerless against me!"

Sharpclaw dropped him on the floor and returned above. "We'll just see about that!" Will called, furious. The words hung in the air as Sharpclaw pulled the metal top down. Only four holes were drilled through the door, and those were for oxygen. In frustration, Will kicked the air beside him, not meaning to hit anything but slamming his foot against the wall. He gasped in pain and clutched his foot, sinking to the floor.

His prisoner where he belonged, Niko continued to man the ship. The sun came up but was covered by the fog until noon where it dispersed for a while, quickly returning at dusk. The crew ate their dinner and went gone to bed long before Niko did. He stayed up to check to make sure things were well and in place. The only people awake when he finally went to his quarters were the night lookouts up in the crow's nest and the Chia that was steering the ship.
Morning came quickly. Niko felt well rested, ready to yell orders and do his captainly duties yet another day. An hour before supper, he remembered that Willefethen was still in the brig. He decided to go visit the Aisha.

When the door to his personal caged room opened and the light from above hit his eyes, Will squeezed them in mild pain. He covered them with an arm. He had not slept well. He didn't often go two days without anything to eat and nothing to drink but the bucket of filthy water he found in the corner while rocking back and forth on a huge boat and having to vomit several times due to seasickness. He never got seasick on his boat, but then again it was a small thing that rocked very gently. This was a huge ship that moved a lot differently than his stupid rowboat did.

"You want something to eat?" Niko asked him, grinning wickedly.

Will glared at him. He could last a few more days without food, but he was running low on water. Finally, he sighed. Like it or not, he needed to accept the fact that this Lupe was the captain of the ship and he was his prisoner. At that moment in time, he really was entirely at the mercy at this filthy, smelly pirate.
"Yes," Will grumbled. "You said I'd just go a day without being fed. It's been two."

"Yes, I'm terribly, terribly sorry about that. The fact that you were down here starving just slipped my mind." His grin broadened. "So, have you learned to hold your tongue yet, or would you rather stay down here another few days?"

You're disgusting.
The words were there, on his tongue. They begged to be let out. But he refused to let them out. If he said anything like that, he might gain another day of no food. So he swallowed the words and said instead, "Yes. You are clearly..." He growled. It nearly killed him to finish the sentence. "You are clearly the superior here. I am your prisoner. I can't swim. You could drown me if you wished. I am... at your mercy." And while it greatly hurt his pride to say those things, he knew they were the ticket to food.

((Heh, good thing Will kept his mouth shut! Well, sort of! =^.^=))
"You bet you are," Niko said. His voice took on a casual tone. "And, I mean, it's not like you couldn't actually survive another day without food, right?"

((What are you talking about? He's still not getting fed!))
"What?" Will could barely believe what he was hearing.

((Hehe, yeah, so? LOL)) "See you tomorrow, Willefethen." Niko slammed the door shut and locked it, blocking out all light for the Aisha. He noticed the other prisoners in the larger room, and shrugged. He whistled on his way up and out of the brig. The next day moved slowly. But soon it was suppertime. Niko decided starving the Aisha wasn't very smart. Dead bodies were a hassle. He figured he'd feed him, work him till his knuckles bled, then chuck him over the edge. It seemed like a good plan at the time. After dinner, he took a plate of raw fish, a half-eaten apple, and two cherries down to Willefethen. He opened the door, placed the plate on the ground, and slid it towards the Aisha. "Good luck finding it in the dark," he said, closing the door.

But Will had expected this from the dirty pirate, so when he saw the food plate, he kept his eyes focused on it when it moved a few feet forward from the captain's push. Good luck finding it in the dark? He didn't need it. He kept his eyes focused on that one spot, and then crawled forward, weak from hunger. He grabbed the plate and wolfed down the fish. He ate the entire apple, core and all, and spat out the cherry pits after cleaning them of every bit of the fruit.

Niko came back ten minutes later. "Willefethen," he said harshly, "get out here. The rest of the prisoners and the crew are going to sleep. You're going to scrub the deck until I can see my face in it, you understand?" Before he had a chance to reply, Niko had grabbed the Aisha by the collar of his shirt and pulled him up, dragging him out and onto the deck. There was a bucket of water and a washrag waiting for them when they came up. "Scrub," he ordered him, pointing to the washrag.
