Secrets of the Swamp

Gand smirked when he received the dream, and only had to remind himself that it was merely a dream and none of it was real. My dear girl, my blood is green; if you want any all you have to do is ask. And I'm not doing anything that concerns you. After that little note was said, he turned back to Omega, becoming overjoyed when Omega agree to give him some of his blood. "Excellent! Don't worry, I've taken blood many, many times before. You won't feel a thing." He lifted up the tail to view the underside of it, and taped onto the tailfin were a few vials and a few needles; just in case, you know. He got the needle and vial ready and then looked over at Omega. "Just let me know when you're ready."

Jorm looked over at Roni, a concerned look coming across his face. He had seen Gand take blood from people many times, and had even done it himself a few times; he didn't even consider the fact that it might make someone sick. "Are you alright?"

Dre scowled again but did comment any more, Omega already had agreed to the procedure and Gand was ready with a needle so there really wasn't anything she could do... She looked over at Roni when Jorm asked if she was alright, she definitely looked a lot paler. She shook her head at Omega and started walking toward Roni, "I might want to rethink that if I were you..." She said to the grarrl and then faced Roni, "Come on lets go over here..." She said not wanting to see the blood either, she already had to deal with it enough in the dreams she delivered.

Omega frowned at Dre's comment, already having reached that assumption. "I trust your experience, it's your SIGHT I'm worried about." he said to the hissi, eyeing the needle wearily. "I don't see how you can accuratly draw blood from an invisible patient. Not to mention the fact that my blood, just like the rest of me, is invisible. If I start bleeding more than normal, you probably wouldn't be able to tell." Omega stated this reasoning with the most calm he could muster, and all the logic he could come up with.

She covered her ears with her paws and nodding to Dre. She was tired of listening to them talking about a subject that made her stomach queasy. Just a mere mention of the word made her go pale. She recalled a time she was in the kitchen when Arathyne, back from the Battledome, had returned. She'd won, but she had a bloody nose, and Roni fell off the chair, fainting before she hit the ground.

She knew she wouldn't see Omega's blood, but what they were talking about was upsetting her nerves.

Dre looked over at Roni, figuring it was time to play mom... "You ok??" She asked sitting down and wrapping her tail around the shoyru for comfort. "Not much into blood are you?" She asked knowing that talking would distract her enough to keep her from thinking about it too much. She hoped Roni wasn't the kind of person who vomited at the sight of blood because she couldn't or wouldn't do anything to clean it up. She glanced back at the other three, trying to see if they were going to go on with it or if Omega really did decide to not do it.

Gand merely shrugged. "I might not be able to see you, but I can feel you. If I manage to hit the vain then we'll have no problems, but if I accidentally draw blood from the muscle, it'll hurt like no tomorrow. But I'm guessing a big, armor wearing fellow such as yourself can handle a little pain, am I not correct? And besides, I'll only prick you; even if you do start bleeding more than normal it'll stop eventually." He was extremely glad to hear that Omega's blood was also invisible, but didn't let it show. He was about ready to jump Omega for his blood without getting his consent, but he would refrain. "So, what do you say?"

When she heard the word 'vein' she made a sort of squeak and rocked back and forth, trying to hold down her stomach. But as she heard Gand continuing his chatter, something snapped. She stood, turned and yelled at him, "Will you just get on with it already?! Omega, give him a stupid YES OR NO. Gand, if he says yes, do whatever and do it fast and STOP TALKING ABOUT IT, or if he says no, DON'T ASK HIM TO RECONSIDER IT!!!! I wouldn't blame him for saying no! What business have you to draw blo--blo-- whatever, from someone you just met? Have some common courtesy and get this over with! If I end up hurling, Gand, you can bet your soul that it'll be on YOU!"

She sat back down and crossed her arms over her chest, giving a little "Hmph!" as she did so.

((ARA: Wow. last time I saw her blow up like that, Vi was attacking me.
VI: Um, other way around, loser.
ARA: YOU SHUT UP!
ME: Ara's blowing up like that is normal... Roni's is not. ^_^))

Dre glared at all three of them now, not understanding why this was just a big deal. She kind of wished that she had the power to put pets to sleep as well as give them dreams, that would make everything a lot quieter... She shook her head and started walking out across the water again, figuring that they could have fun with the whole blood thing and catch back with her later. She was kinda getting tired of it really, she didn't hang around mortals much and every time she did something went bad. She was just glad this didn't involve her... She stopped though, if she was solid could she have blood taken from her? Every time she was confronted with danger she would just fade out, there was never a time she had actually been harmed or anything like that... Dre turned back and sat next to Jormungand, waiting for him to decide to take Omega's blood before she mentioned her idea.

Omega started at Roni's comment, and between her and the hissi mad ehis desicion. "The young lady's right. Just hurry up," he said, holding his arm out for the hissi. Not like he had much to loose of course. The grarrl spared a glance at Dre when she returned though, but other than a slightly questioning expression did not say anything.

Gand cocked his head while eyeing the shoyru, a smirk spreading across his face after a moment. Dang, she's pretty hot when she's angry too, he thought. Though again, he would simply admire from afar. He was about to rebuttal when Omega gave him the go ahead, and he was more interested in taking Omega's blood before he had a chance to change his mind than he was arguing with a female that had emotional issues. He had Jorm hold the arm still while he injected the needle into Omega's arm, doing his best to hit the vein but he couldn't be entirely sure where that was. At first he wasn't even sure he was drawing blood, the needle filling with an invisible substance. A few flicks of his tongue told him he did have Omega's blood though; he could smell it in the air. After he was done, he separated the needle from the vial, and then tightly screwed a small lid onto the vial. Once he was sure the vial was tightly sealed with Omega's blood safely inside, he put the vial in this mouth and swallowed it. This would ensure it was in a safe place until he could retrieve it later by throwing it back up, along with all the other none digestible things he had eaten that day, like bones and Anna's keys.

Omega had held still during the whole procedure, but once the needle was extreacted he started fidgedting and inspecting his arm. That was one of the other major problems with invisibility, that you couldn't see yourself. After assureing that he was not bleeding more than normal he relaxed a bit more. "So, happy with your test?" he asked, the bit of snappish tone not hidden.

Dre thought it was pretty weird that he had swallowed the vial but she wasn't going to comment about it, once he was done though she nudged him nervously with her shoulder. I have a quick favor to ask... She sent and then followed that with a dream of Gand pointing her with a needle. I am just curious... She said and smiled weakly. She could always just stab herself with a stick but the needle seemed safer and maybe Gand would have fun pointing around in her blood too... She didn't know of any other ghosts that could turn solid, maybe that was another thing the Dark Faerie had granted her...?

Roni hummed a tune from her childhood in Ahsla the whole while, and faced away with her eyes closed and her hands over her ears. It was a tune often played that she'd sung to at festivals. She had been young, perhaps nine, but still a fabulous singer. Even now, seven years later, she still had trouble comprehending that she was over a hundred years old. She didn't look like it and she didn't act like it but her body and mind had been around for a hundred and sixteen years at the very least.

As she remembered all this and hummed the tune, her body seemed to relax and she lost all awareness of everything and everybody around her. She felt like she was sinking into the ground, away from her body, deep into the swampy soil. She spread her spirit-like self out and gently released her energy into the earth. Small seeds flew from her fingers and planted themselves around her. She fed her energy to the seeds to make them grow, while taking the soil and moisture in it to give the seeds nutrients. The roots sprouted and spread down several meters. Buds formed on top and slowly moved upward. She floated with them back to her body, where a ring of blue flowers that only she and her people had ever seen before bloomed around her.

Gand raised an eyebrow, though smirked at Omega. The way he saw it, Omega had no right to snap at him; he could have said no when he asked him if he could draw blood. But Gand found Omega's snappish tone to be humorous. He also felt the need to correct Omega, simply because he could. "I haven't done a test yet; merely took a sample. The test will come later, when I'm alone in my lab.......Well, alone with that, anyway." He said as he gave a small nod in his other head's direction.

Gand stopped talking and froze as he received the little dream Dre had given him, and a small smile spread across his face. He looked over at Dre and nodded. For you, my dear, I'll do anything. Well, that wasn't entirely true, but he didn't have a problem with drawing her blood if she wanted him to. He took out another vial and readied it in the needle, then waited for Dre to get ready.

The flowers let off a sort of aroma that Roni was unaware of. Being born in the only place in Neopia that they bloomed, she was immune to its effects in their plant state. She knew the flowers were used in herbs to help calm the mind and put one to sleep, but no one really realized that the smell they gave off as a flower would put any outsiders to sleep. Because of this, it never occured to her that perhaps the people behind her would be affected, or at least the living ones.
