They walked for a long time, until Roni came upon another door. She opened it and was relieved to find light, but also the room happened to be - a treasury!!
Suddenly very aware of what she was holding, she let go of Ix's hand, blushed furiously, and made her way over to the masses of weapons and armor, gold and jewels, stacked up on top of each other carelessly in a big room. Piles of the stuff were everywhere.

"Woah," Ix whispered, looking on the room in awe. He noticed when Roni let go of his hand, but didn't really care to linger on it in comparison to the contents of the room.
"What is all this?" he asked, walking further into the room, picking up one fo the many swords and swinging it experimentally.

"I don't know, but it's great that we found it!" Although she wasn't really sure of that. Often times, the metals in armor or weapons interfered with her connection with her powers, but that hadn't happened for a long time, so perhaps it wouldn't now. "Just a handful of this stuff would make us richer than Fyora herself!" And goodness knows how rich SHE is, miss hidden tower lady........ she thought with amusement.
"Come on, grab a weapon or two and let's get out of here. We can't let these things tempt us. They could be bewitched. I can't tell if they are or not. Faerie magick confuses me."

"Alright," Cirxel responded, picking up a rapier with a sheath and attaching it to his belt, grabbing a near by dagger and repeating the action. He walked briskly toward the door, holding it open for roni as he took one last look over the gold, to apprehensive of her warning to touch anyhting other than the weapons.

Roni hadn't taken anything from the room, and was a little disheartened to have to leave it. All that gold and those treasures were awfully tempting to take some of. But she knew that was exactly what the dark faeries wanted, and exactly what they weren't going to get. She walked through the door, taking a torch with her as she did so. The torch felt pretty natural, but she was still cautious. She led Ix down the dark hallway again.

Ix closed the door behind her, taking one las look at the treasure filled room beyond. He turned to follow her, taking out the dagger he had grabbed and looking it over contemplativly.
"I don't understand why they would put a treasury next to the dungeon, but I guess if it's a fairly defencible area it would be a good idea." he thought aloud, swing the knife experimentally.
"I wonder where it all came from."

"Stolen, probably," Roni scoffed. "I can't stand these faeries." They walked on for a long time until they hit a set of stairs. In front of it was a dark faerie. She looked up at them, smirking.
"I thought I heard little whispers down the way," she mocked. "Too bad I'm going to have to kill your friend now and take you up to my mistress, seeing as the prison can't hold you back."
Roni, forgetting that Ix was armed, instinctively moved in front of him protectively. "You will not harm a hair on his head," she said darkly.
"Is that a threat?" The faerie was amused, and stood.
It wasn't difficult in the least to call up the dirt underneath their feet. Weeds grew and poked out of the ground, wrapping themselves around the faerie until she couldn't escape. Curses flew out of her mouth as she tried to use her magick to burn the weeds. Roni didn't flinch as the vines slitherered around the faerie's neck and tightened and tightened until her head lay limp against it.

Cirxel eyed the faeire warily, holding the dagger in front of his but drawing it back quickly as Roni stepped in front of him. He eyed her with slight annoyance with that action, but as the vines started growing out of the ground he took a step back.
"Roni, I think that'll do," he said, grabbing her shoulder as the faeire's head lolled back. A slightly worried expression was one his face, but it's subject wasn't the faerie.

"Sorry," she murmured, "instinct." She actually lowered her head in shame. She'd only ever done that if her parents scolded her for anything improper she did. She hated this feeling, this feeling of being a child again. Her cheeks burned. "Please, Ix, a lot more of them are going to have to die. It's either us, or them. I wouldn't really care too much about putting my life in potentially fatal danger, but since you're involved...." She dared to look up into his eyes. "I can't hold it to my conscience if you are killed and I don't get some sort of revenge. I can barely hold not getting revenge for what they did to my kingdom. My family, my friends, everyone I knew and loved, the place I called home... gone. And these people are responsible. I feel I owe it to my people to take them out. But if you are killed.... I shudder to think it."

Cirxel looked down at her, making a point of not looking at the faerie's body. "Look, I'm sorry. Revenge...it's your business, not mine. I've done ym best to avoid a situation where it would enter my life. But I don't want you thinking your in this by yourself. I can watch my back as well as you can, or at least well enough to get out with my skin in most cases." He took his hand off her shoulder, and stepped around the faeire's body, mounting the stairs but stopping once he reached the edge of the light, looking back down at her.

She looked up at him gratefully. It seemed they looked at each other forever until she nodded, following him up the stairs. She was very glad that Ix understood in some way, and that he wasn't going to desert her. She herself would much rather not have to kill these monsters--she couldn't even bring herself to call them people--but she felt it her duty to her people. It seemed very silly when she thought it from a rational point of view; why should she avenge people that she'd known for only nine short years? But they were a part of her and she was a part of them. She was forever tied to the old world of Ahsla, the world that would still exist if not for these creatures. The world that had been in hiding to keep out all evil, but had fallen to just what it was blocking out. The world that she would have fought to the death for had she only been a little older, and awake.....
Why had Mynallesna saved her? What place did Princess Ronyshia of Ahsla have in the outside world? Try as she might, Roni would never feel completely belonging in this new world, this new place that she'd lived in for years and still could not get used to. Her magick grew with the world and it was in tune with the ways of today's magick, but her heart would never leave Ahsla completely.
But then, there was Ix. And her family. She loved them, and she could tell that she was beginning to love Ix despite her short time of knowing him. That was her weakness: because a small portion of her heart was forever sealed away in Ahsla, she constantly tried to fill the hole with love. But her love of her land would never die, and nothing would ever push it out.
They reached the top of the stairs and she opened the door. They were in an empty hallway, torches lighting the hallway. Another set of stairs lay at the end of the hall, and they made their way up it until they hit another door. Opening it, they opened the way to a very large room. They were no longer underground, and were obviously in the main entry for a castle. Two dark faeries positioned by the door they'd come through closed it and stood between them and it. Others, many, many others, surrounded them at their posts and slowly made their ways over.
"So, the little Princess managed to get out of her cell," one hissed. "We will not harm you, but your friend we have no use for."
The one behind Ix grabbed his neck.....

Ix instinctively jabbed her with his elbow, reversing the dagger in his other hand and stabbing it into her side. She released him with scream and stepped back. He quickly withdrew the sword from it's scabbard, brandishing it ahead of him, holding the dagger by his side as he looked around at the faeries.
"Where the lady goes, so do I." He said, glancing at the girl beside him before watching the dark faeries again warily. He looked almost as if he stepped through time, his costume torn and worse for wear from the challenges they had been through that night, the sword glinting ahead of him.

Roni glowed at his words, but now was not the time. Many more, about ten or so, were approaching. The ground vibrated and shook as if in a tremor, and then thorny branches curled out of the earth and stabbed the faeries they could catch, running several clean through. Six more left, they blasted the branches to bits with magick and then divided into two teams. One attacked Ix, the other Roni, both with deadly magick attacks.

Cirxel watched as Roni brought up the thorns, but when his share of the faeries turned on him was too busy evading their magic to pay attention to Roni's retaliation. He managed to roll close enough to one to slice her throat with his dagger, but the others seemed to realize his need for close range and kept their distance, continuing to fire magic at him. He continued evading their magic, but until he could get within sword lenght of them he was helpless.
"Roni, can you spare a moment?" he risked asking, catching her out of the corner of his eye as he dodged another purple burst of energy.

"Ummm," she started, swinging her arm around so a blade of green light went after a dark faerie, which in turn cut it at the waist; she kicked down one that got too close and brought up a small tree that smashed through the faerie's ribcage and kept it on the ground as it died. "Sure, with what?" She was paying attention to him, but was still focused on the last enemy throwing dark balls of energy at her.
