"Uh," Cirxel started, attempting to regain his thoughts as dark magic continued flying past him. He glanced over again but didn't finish his stament, catching sight of the tree impaled faerie. He quickly jumped behind it, lunging at the faerie attacking Roni and managing to kill her with his sword. He looked back at the remaining two, trying to keep what little shelter the tree offered between him and them.
"I can't get closeneough to them with all that magic, that's all I needed." He explained quickly, watching the two warily.

"Oh, right. May I...?"
Roni took the sword from Ix without really waiting for him to answer. The tree thickened and shielded them for the moment. The faeries would soon come around; she had less than a second to work this. Very quickly she plunged reflective power into the sword. She thrust it back into Ix's hand and asked, "Just hit the jets of magick. Trust me."
((like on Zelda OoT where you swing your sword and the light ball flies back to phantom Ganon ^^))

Cirxel gave her a skeptic look as he took back the sword, but he didn't have time for clarification as thw two faries came around, one on either side of the tree. The lupe held the sword before him and as the first of the magic shot toward him he slashed at it. The ball of energy flew off toward the wall, and Cirxel realized what it was Roni had done. As the succesive attacks came he changed the way he was hittign them, so one shot went flying to the faerie's chest. As the magic coursed through her she eventually fell over dead, Cirxel turning around to see how Roni was faring with the second.

Roni grabbed the tree's trunk and ripped it from the roots. She held it and swung it at the dark faerie coming after her, and it hit the thing dead on. Lavender flames shot out of her hands and pummeled the faerie until it was twice dead.
She looekd at Ix. She was breathing heavy and beads of sweat were forming on her forehead. "Wow," she said, "there were a few moments during that whole fight when I didn't think we'd win."

"Yeah.." Cirzel agreed, wiping the blood form his sword and dagger onto his pant leg, trying not to look at the bodies lying around them.
"Now what, though? I'"m sure their leader must be nearby if they brought you here, but we could probably find an exit from here, right?" He asked, looking around to examine the large room more carefully.

"I don't know," she said. "I guess we'll just have to search. Let's try up here." She jogged toward the flight of stairs and made her way up them, stopping after four to check see if Ix was following.

Ix watched after her for a few moments, but eventually began walking toward the stars as well, sheathing the dagger as he went. He also tore off the large frilly collar form his costume, tossing it down and looking remarkably less foolish without it.
"After you, Roni," he said as he mounted the first stair.

She blushed at the chivalry and walked slowly up the stone stairs, suddenly having a weird sense of déjà vu. In a split second, she was seven, wearing a dirty yellow gown and walking upstairs slowly as she could, for at the top lay a scolding. The déjà vu was over quickly as it came, and she was again one hundred twenty-one years old, wearing the same shirt and skirt she got into that morning. At least, I THINK it was this morning, she chimed.
She reached the top and looked at the landing. There was nothing but yet another spiral staircase, up which she climbed until hitting a ladder. She pressed herself against the wall and murmured to Ix, "Um, I'd go up first, but...." She brushed dirt off her skirt and blushed furiously.

Cirxel looked apprehensive as they climbed, at least with roni turned away. He had really been hoping to leave, but the girl was doing a wonderous job of making him feel like a complete loser as far as his honor went. But if he had left that wouldn't have helpd it either, so here he was. Off to battle the leader of a group of dark faeries that wanted them dead.
As the reached the ladder Cirxel gave a small grin before mounting the rungs, his furred tail falling behind him as he began climbing.
At the top was a small landing with a few doors branching off, lite by a few torches.

Roni came up after him, a little embarrassed and ashamed. How could she have dragged Ix into this? This was all her affair, and none of his; and now his life was threatened because she pulled him into her business.
"Umm, Ix?" she whispered when they reached the top. "Before we go anywhere, um, I just want to say I'm really sorry."

Cirxel gave a small shrug, turning to help her onto the landing. "Well, I forgive you. But if you think about it it's as much my fault I'm here as yours. I could have left couldn't I?" He asked, not having much of an idea what else to say.
"And who's to say it wasn't fate itself that brought me here. If I hadn't met you i would be sadly lacking in a good friendship, and completely ignorant of it." His tail swished behind him slowly as he stood back to give her room.

Roni looked at him and felt a surge of emotion she'd never felt before. It was weird. "But... you could die. You could die any time here, and it'd be because of me. Everyone in Ahsla died because I wasn't there for the faeries to take.... I don't know if I can have another life on my conscious. I know you can fend for yourself. But I'm still really sorry. You probably think I'm an idiot."

"An idiot? Not a chance, Roni. You've saved my skin enough times tonight that I doubt I could repay you." He responded, his tail flicking faster than before. "And why would the faeries only want you anyway? I was under the impression that they just had something against your kingdom."

"I have no idea," she said, and then, determinedly, "but I'm going to find out before we leave here."
She stood by Ix and, in a bold move, took his hand and blushed. "In case one of us dies," she tells him, before quickly kissing him on the mouth.

Cirxel didn't move as she kissed him, but tightened his grip around hers. As he drew back he smilied, ears erect ad tail swishing happily behind him.
"Better than any stage kiss, your highness." He said, still smiling. "So, where to now? I'll follow you. I'd probably winding up walking into a storage room or somehting."
