((*lmao*))
Strips raised an eyebrow, eyeing the snake. But then he smiled and his smile quickly turned to all out laughter. "You musta been readin' my mind, kid." He sat down before taking the half that she offered him. He pealed a small bit off and ate it, nodding afterward. "Not bad, but it needs to be cooked a little more." He liked his snake virtually charred. He sat the snake down on the ground and glance between her and it. "Would you mind?"

((^_^))
She held out a finger and zapped the snake lightly. It caught fire and began to cook it. "Tell me when," she told him. "I'm not much of a kid, you know. I'm nineteen years old."

Strips held up his hand for a moment, and then signaled when the snake was the way he liked it. "Right now." He paused for a moment, curing at himself inside his head. "Yes, I realize this, and I apologize. It's just a habit, but shaln't happen again."

When he said now, she pulled the zap away. It rolled across the grass and fled into Zcy's hand, where it sank in and vanished.
"How old are you?" she asked.

Strips gave a small smile as he picked up the cooked snake. "Thank you" he said with a small nod. He took a few bites while debating on whether or not to answer her question. He didn't see any reason not to, and couldn't fine any reason why he would need to lie about it. "I think I'm about twenty-six."

She frowned. "You think?" she repeated. "You aren't sure?"

Strips sighed and his ears pinned back. He should have seen that one coming, and he probably should have made himself sound more sure about it. But the truth was he couldn't be entirely sure. "Well, no. I've never really been one for celebrations, and for a while I just stopped keeping track. Then this friend of mine did this whole big thing with a bunch of math.....Well, it wasn't really that big but I'm really bad at math so it was big in my mind.....and she figured my age to be twenty-six." Well, he felt pretty retarded now; not being sure about his own age.

She twisted her mouth in thought. Then she smiled. "Don't feel so bummed. My birth dad doesn't know how old he is, either. But then again I don't see him so much. Anyway, it doesn't matter how old you are, does it? I still like you, even if you are a tad scary and don't even know things about yourself that most people do." She grinned.
((lmao she doesn't mean "I like you" like "I like you like you", just an fyi. >_< haha))

((*rofl*))
Strips forced a small smile. "I never thought age mattered. So what if I'm not a teen anymore; I've still got the heart of an ox.....Well, an ox that drinks, away." He smiled to make it appear he was only joking around. For a moment he sat silent, thinking about what she had said more carefully. It was rather odd for her to be saying such a thing when she didn't know him. They just met not too long ago; she had no idea what he was capable of. Yet those words made him start to feel bad about getting her to trust him just so he could get information out of her. It was what he was good at, though the information hadn't helped in the least bit. He gave a half smile and scrubbed his fingers through his hair. "Thanks Zcy, that means a.....thanks." He decided it was best to leave it at that.

((because she doesn't LIKE him like that. ^^)) She smiled, then frowned. Her Gelert ears lifted at a noise from above. "What was that?" she asked to nobody in particular. ((I don't get the ox joke... ))

((lol, I'd certainly hope not.))
Strips raised an eyebrow to her statement. Funny, he hadn't heard anything. Maybe he really was getting old, or maybe he was concentrating so much on conversation that he had just about forgotten about everything else. He hated making that mistake; it had almost cost him his life far too many times. But now that she had said something, he was on full alert, ears twitching every direction. He slowly got to his feet and turned to face the direction she was looking, hand reaching for the dagger concealed in the belt of his pants and just as slowly pulling it out. He still didn't hear anything though, just the sound of his own heart and a couple of birds nearby. He was about to ask her if she was sure she had heard something, but was rather enjoying the silence. He also figured he better investigate. He put the blade of his dagger in his teeth as he shimmied up the tree, signaling her to wait.
((He was trying to make her think he was only joking about him drinking. And because of his drinking his heart isn't as strong as an ox’s.))

Tack cursed at himself quietly. He'd leaned forward to hear them better and snapped a twig. Now he began to climb back down the tree, on the side opposite of the two, as the Kourga rushed up it. He stepped infront of the Gelert.
"Where is your boy going?" he asked snidely.
