((Joining! ^^ Yaaay. Sorry for lateness!))
The sky was dark, covered in grey-black-purple stormclouds, that not even the sun could pierce through, shadowing the land... or more accurately, all of Neopia. The clouds concentrated around the Citadel, where they grew into a swirling mass, clearly the building was their origin.
A lone figure stood on one of the balconies, narrow yellow eyes, much like an eyrie's in their keen-ness, surveying the landscape beneath the floating tower. It was a kyrii, and while not mutated as many Darigan pets tended to be, nevertheless she gave off an aura of foreboding.
Her fur was black as pitch and slightly shaggy, except for her left arm, which just below the shoulder, the fur started gradually and eventually fading, so that her hand was pure white. This contrasted strangely with her right arm and paw, which was black, and fingers carrying long, sharp nails, almost sabre like in their build and construction. The kyrii's long hair and tail was red and green.. christmas colors, laughably enough, but they were so darkened that only a hue of the would-be bright colors were visible. The black cloak she wore, complete with a hood (though it was down), hid whatever clothing she was wearing underneath it, aside from a glimpse of booted feet.
((It's not really Checkr if you're curious.. It's kinda like her "reflection".. I'll get the story up here soon x3))
Meanwhiles, three pets struggled through the slopes of Terror Mountain, obviously having been on the move for some time, as could be seen by their worn apparal - a chestnut lupess, seeming undettered yet irritated from the cold, a purple aisha, shivering, even with her many layers of clothing, and a shadow kougra, in perhaps worse a state than the aisha.
((sorry for crap post.. i'm tired.. x-x))

Dre rolled over causing the blanket to slip off of her and cold air to nip at her skin. She muttered something under her breath and reached out a hand behind her to look blindly for the blanket as her eyes remained closed. Her hand failed to find the blanket so with a tired sigh she sat up. The cave seemed exactly how it was when she had fallen asleep, except for one thing. Dre stared at the floor where Strips had settled down the last night. Her eyes then proceeded across the floor over to where Shallo was still snoozing. She didn't like the fact that the kougra who had claimed that he wasn't really with them after all was gone. She scooted over to where the Jetsam was and nudged him slightly, hoping to get him awake easily.

((Lolz, like that's going to work XD. Shallo sleeps like a rock, remember))
Shallo growled, rolling away from her hand onto his stomach, his fins sticking up into the air strangly as he lay there. Consequently the blanket he had wrapped himself in tighted around hi, and he continued turning in an attempt to free himself, almost waking but still retaining a good deal of sleep.

As soon as the sun was beginning to rise, Strips landed in the sands of the Lost Desert and began walking. It was just far too dangerous to fly during the day anymore; he had taken a risk flying at night, but he wasn't going to risk it during the day. For now, he was alone, but knowing him that would quickly change...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, in the Darigan Citadel, Abby was still walking around the halls and chambers of the castle. She knew she should probably retire to her room, but being a vampire, she just couldn't sleep, especially at night. She was content walking, even though she had done it several times before. And who knows, maybe she would run into someone interesting she could talk to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And lastly, back in the caves of Terror Mountain, Geist was still out cold. It seemed like it had been so long since she was able to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep, and she intended to enjoy it for as long as possible; it would probably be a while before she woke up again.
Caster was still awake, of course, but he was still dealing with the tech people. The information he had given them had overloaded their computers; he had tried to tell them that he was too advanced for their systems. They got the problem fixed eventually, though, by compacting the data into a more reasonable format.

Dre watched, eyebrow raised, as Shallo grunted, turned over, and then fought to get comfortable again with his blanket. She let out a small sigh, she had forgotten that he was a deep sleeper.... Strips is gone... I don't know if I should be worried or not. I just thought I should tell you... Dre sent him, scooting back and leaning her back against the wall of the cave. She crossed her arms across her chest and looked around, not liking that now she had someone that she didn't trust out of sight. He could have gotten out of the cave somehow but Dre didn't see an exit from where she was sitting right now. Her eyes turned back to Shallo to see if there was any response from him to her message.

The message sunk in, but it still took the jetsam several minutee for it to worry his mind enough to wake him. He rolled groggily onto his side, the fire flaring back to life as he glanced slowly around the cave.
Finding Strips gone he sat up quickly, slowly trying to figure out the foretelling in the dream. As his gaze drifted aorund he cave he caught sight of Dre, though, and a frown crossed his features.
"Fine," he murmured, getting up and walking to where the kougra had been when Shallo fell asleep. "I thought I had made this place solid," Shallo thought aloud. "There wasn't anyway to enter or exit without magic."
He turned back to dre, unconciously running a hand over the greasy black paint on his skin. "where you awake when he left?"

Dre scowled back as he frowned at her, not understanding why he was upset with her when Strips was the one that was missing. She shook her head 'no' to his question and got up, "Well he's either sleeping somewhere else or you were wrong about not being able to get out. Where you trying to trap us in here or something?" She asked now wondering why Shallo had brought them to a place where they couldn't get out in the first place.

The kyrii continued looking out on the landscape, looking up every so often, but the air was utterly still, as was the countryside, aside from a column of smoke rising up in the distance, so hard to see in the night, but still there.
She chuckled, an unpleasant sound, and turned on her feet, to wander the halls of the Citadel. The creature was bored, and perhaps even anxious, to say the least, but she had waited long enough for this opportunity, hadn't she? And she could wait still longer.
As she walked down one hall, she saw the kougress, but said nothing, merely stopping to observe her, not questioning why she was there. After all, the kyrii had just recently arrived, and she knew her master had many other charges.
------------ "It's f-freezing!" Vixcy whined, burying her chin into the scarf around her neck and pulling her ragged hat tighter to her head. "I h-hate the snow! We got the m-message, where's the hideout? They said-!"
Umber, who had previously ignored all of Vixcy's complaining, suddenly whirled, the flames high in her eyes, grabbing onto the aisha's collar, "Shut. Up. You never know who's listening." the lupe snarled, looking up at the sky suddenly.
Snow on a dark sky falling. That was it. Even so, Vixcy seemed to shrink slightly, shivering violently, "Sorry." Umber growled a brief, "Better be." before turning, causing Vann to suddenly speak up, "Umber, leave Vixcy alone. We're all cold and tired. We need a break."
The lupe looked at him furiously, "You been saying that every two hours. We can't waste the night, it's hard enough finding a hiding place for the day. Keep moving." She turned around again and continued their march up the mountain. "They would have concealed it, the trick is letting them know where we are, without drawing attention to ourselves."
"What if we never find it?" Vixcy asked Vann, voice pitiful. Vann reassured her that they would, but inside, he wondered.
The past couple of months had not smiled upon them. The Dark Faerie's return had spun everything out of control. Checkr had run away. Not long after, Nerrone had bid them goodbye for now, voice ringing with finality as she spoke of her duty to document these events. They had traveled in a large group after that; his family, including Drift's family, and Miranda's (Drift's wife) side of the family. Several weeks ago they had been attacked, and scattered to the four winds.
Vann did not know where the rest of them were, but he could only cling to the hope that they were together... and alive.

Zuri had continued to sleep. Even though he should probably be doing the routine scouting, he still slept. Lucky for him another team was on the case, since they had already found some people it was always best to do another search. 1. to make sure they were not followed by the enemy, and 2. to see if there were any straglers. But for now there wasn't much else for our local characters but sleep. They were all tired and needed to catch up on there rest for a bit. So basically till another alarm went off or they were needed.

Abby stopped walking when someone caught her attention; someone was staring at her. She merely stared back for a moment, a blank expression on her face as she eyed the kyrii up and down. She gave a half smile; she didn’t really care about her, but wanted to make an attempt at being polite at the same time. She was a little curious, though, because she had never seen the kyrii in the castle before, and she thought she knew just about everyone here. After another moment, she decided to introduce herself. Walking toward the other female, she said a mere, “Hello.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caster was done messing with the computers and began randomly walking around the cave. He came to a few people talking and watching a computer screen; they were talking about how a group of people had been spotted within the perimeter and how they were going to send someone out to meet them. Since Caster had nothing else to do, he offered to go find them. After getting their permission, he left the cave and started walking in the direction of the travelers. It didn’t take too long to reach them, but that was probably only because he knew exactly where he was going and didn’t get lost.
As he came upon them, he stopped, keeping his distance. His guns were not yet drawn; he wasn’t a trigger-happy person. He stood tall with a blank stare on his face. “State your designations,” he ordered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Strips was still walking cautiously through the desert, trying to steer clear of major cities. He would have to stop for supplies eventually, but for now he was fine. As he was walking, though, he got the feeling of being followed. In this day in age he didn’t dare dismiss it, but pretended not to notice.
Shallo turned back shaking his head slowly. "If you can't get out, no one can get in. You would only be able to teleport in here. Not like that helps much against dark faeries, but not many dairgans could find there way in here. Except our aquaintence of late seems to have found a gap in that defense." he replied before turning back to continue examining the walls.
Eventually he foudn the gap Strips had used and quickly brough one of the rings out of his pocket, slipping it on. He quickly moved his hand over the gap, the earth powers in the ring activating to once more create a solid barrier there. Once he was content with it he slipped the ring off, returning it before turning back to Dre.
"So have you figured where you want to be taken yet?"
Umber stopped in her tracks, looking up at the Robot lupe, mouth dipping into a frown. Vixcy, not realizing the commotion, bumped into her and then looked up at him with some fear, Vann had much the same reaction, save a more dumbfounded look.
Before Umber could interrupt her, Vixcy piped, "We're on Queen Fyora's side! We got the message! We know everyone's here! Thank you for finding us!" Umber mentally snarled - if this lupe wasn't on the "good" side, they were in for a load of trouble.
------
She regarded the kougress for a moment, before nodding, and mimicked her tone, chosing not to act on perhaps expected greetings, like shaking hands. "Hello." Her voice was strange - it was fluid, normal on the surface, but seemed to be filled with a deeper undertone and grating.
Her yellow eyes scanned the kougra's face briefly, and then she spoke again, "What do they call you?" Her tone was polite, formal, though the words may not have been in another context, though the kyrii meant no ill will by it - formalities were simply not her forte.
The robot lupe tilted his head to the side ever so slightly. They hadn't exactly answered his question, but under the circumstances he decided to just let that little detail slide. He knew how fragile organic were, and he figured by now the group was tired, hungry, and cold. There would always be time for introductions later. "Following this unit will lead you to the rebel base," he replied, his voice sounding robotic and emotionless.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The corners of Abby mouth tipped up in an amused, not to mention mischievous, smile. "Most people here call me terrifying, to be completely honest with you. However, when addressing me, most people call me Abigail. Though, you may call me Abby, if you find it more comfortable." She paused, looking at the kyrii through narrowed eyes as she shifted her weight to one leg. "And what about yourself? What is your name?" She was instinctively suspicious of the girl, but she couldn't help it; all this war had tainted her mind.

"Oh, thank you!" shrieked Vixcy, jumping up in down. Umber's arm gave a twitch, as if she wished to slap her, but chose better of it, and, frown deepening, turned away to follow the robotic lupe. "So how far is this base?" Vann asked conversationally, trying to break the tense silence as they followed Caster.
-------------- "Pity." she said, though her face didn't change, "Abigail is a..." here her mouth curled into an strange, crooked smile, "very pretty name." She laughed, though it wasn't exactly a laugh with her strange voice, more a exhalation of breath accompanied by glassy amusement in her yellow slitted eyes. "I have had...many... names." Voice turning droning, she recited, switching to a different tongue, "Atrum Unus, Key, Ceterus Pars, Visio secundum Vas, Adversus, Malum, Caligo Faerie's Vernula, Unus Reus Ut Speculum, Iam Licentia..."
"More importantly, I am one of the Darkest Faerie's servants." She laughed again, in her strange non-laughing way, "Although my previous charge was fond of referring to me as "The Dark One". If you are so inclined, you may call me that."

Dre tilted her head to the side, a look of thought crossed her features, "I haven't really thought about it, to tell you the truth..." She said and frowned. "I would just like to stay out of trouble but that's kind of hard to do these days." She said and looked over at him, "I know I was a bit of a nuisance before but would you mind me sticking with you for a while?" She asked. She didn't really know how to life in the outside world anymore. When she was mortal the way of living way very different than they way of living now....
-----
((I think I shall add Rasi :] cause yeah Dre's starting to get boring))
Rasi's ears flicked around as he heard voices coming from farther down the mountain. He peeked around a boulder and locked his blazing green eyes on a small group of pets and Caster, a robotic lupe that was helping with escorting rebels to the base. He waited for a while, wondering if the group was on their side and just lost or people on the dark side.
"We're on Queen Fyora's side! We got the message! We know everyone's here! Thank you for finding us!" Shouted an overexcited aisha. Rasi let relief wash over him as he staggered out from behind the rock and started walking the rest of the way down the mountain to them.
He had been helping as a guard for the base and had a black headset connected to his ear. He rested a hand on a button and spoke into the small microphone that was connected to it, "Curasi to base, over." He said and slowed as he neared the group more, "We have a group of about..." He counted the small group, "Three rebels out here and are making out way towards y'all." He said, smiling at the new comers and nodding at Caster.
