ooc: ACK! The rp ran away without mee. DDDDDDD: Ah wells.. I'll try to stick back in. Drift drew his sword slowly, as not to make any noise, though it still made a metallic clink that made him wince inwardly. Adjusting his coat, and the giant broadsword in his hand, he darted from the alley and stood in the mist in the fashion of some ghostly spectator. Having heard the others talk all the while, it gave him some insight as to what they were fighting about... in /his/ city. Never had so many visitors in one night visited /his/ city. Had he been the stupid sort, he would have boldly announced himself in some way, questioning what they were doing in his city, boasted that this was the place he was born into, the place he watched die, the place he guarded. ..And That they should keep their voices down.. Because though abandoned by the common people, this city was no means empty. But then... He wasn't the stupid sort, and merely stood and watched, waiting and observing.

Azura screamed when the ring started glowing, taking a few steps back as it expanded and wrapped itself around her. She dropped the staff and fell to her knees, trying to wiggle out of the tight grasp of the ring. She hadn't planned on that happening, she didn't think the ring actually did anything, she just figured it was a regular ring... She grunted, "Get this thing off of me!" She commanded kicking the staff at him, "You have your freakin' staff, now let me go!"

Shallo grumbled, casting a glance in the darigan's direction. "I can assure you I had no intention of harming your dear friend here. The ring won't do any harm, but unless you want her to stay trapped like that I have to get to the ring, which may include laying a finger on her," the jetsam retorted, reaching down the pick up his staff. He hissed as the movement brought pain to his arm, but he would deal with that later. He turned to the kougress, a serious look in his mismatched eyes. "So, do you trust me to remove the bind, or not?"

Strips's eyes wondered to Azura and the ring that had surrounded her body, and he made the realization that he had no clue as to how to get it off. He didn't trust this jetsam and wasn't sure he could take his word, but also didn't see as how he had much choice. In the end he decided to back down and let Azura deside if she wanted the jetsam to touch her or not, but he was sure to keep a careful eye on him just in case.

Azura stopped struggling, her eyes looking in his for any sign of distrust in the words he was saying... Her gaze switched to Strips's eyes and then back at his, knowing that he really was the only one who could get the ring off of her. "I trust you..." She said looking down at the ground, her own stupidity had gotten herself into this mess and now she was going to have to take risks to get her out.

The Xweetok frowned upon hearing this. The Kougress was being foolish. Putting her life in the hands of this cretin? She would never do anything of the sort. Still one with the wind, her molecules floated downward to them where she hovered next to the captive fool, examining the ring.
She knew better than to touch it or use any magic on it, but perhaps an arrow? It had no magical abilities unless she spelled it so, which she never had; therefore she truly didn't see how it would affect anything. Quickly, she pulled the molecules of her hands together to solidify them, but not so much that they were visible. The bow, which had become air with her since she held onto it, solidified in that such a state as well; invisible, but solid.
She patted her back where the quiver would be, solidifying it enough to pull out an unseen arrow. The moment her hand left the quiver, it became air again. She knew that her hands, while in this state, and her molecules, while as air, were outlined with a translucent lining that only she could see. This was a benefit to her power: no one could see any part of her, but she could see the translucent linings so she knew what she was doing. As air, no heat-sensing devices could track her; as a solid invisible, they could. Her clothes were visible in the second state, as well, but she'd learned quickly to make only certain parts of her body air and the other solid. Solid didn't mean unseen. It meant that if she kicked a trash can right now, nothing would happen and she'd go right through it. However, if she picked up a trash can and threw it, it would vanish from sight at her touch and return visible once it left her hands and went flying through the air.
She took her invisible bow and arrow and aimed for the ring on the Kougress' finger. She closed one eye and aimed carefully, precisely; then loosed. The arrow became visible as it left the bow, which she was touching, and slammed right into the ring on her finger. She turned her hands and bow back to air and headed upwards to watch them so she would be in a direction other than where the arrow had come.

Azura screamed in fright and in pain as the arrow struck the ring. The ring didn't budge but her finger hurt like hell now. She couldn't do anything though with her arms pinned to her sides... Her eyes looked toward the place where the arrow had come from, not seeing anything but knowing it was that xweetok. She was the only one who had an bow at the time and could pop in and out like that. She was really starting to doubt that she should have even came over here... It was like every time she tried to help someone she got hurt in the process... "Get this stupid thing off of me!" She screamed, struggling again to get the ring off of her.

Shallo started at the arrow, jumping to face the direction of the arrow. Suspision lay deep in his eyes as he watched the air, but he had other matter to attend to. He made his way over to the kougress, slowly enough not to startle her or the darigan.
"Now, hold still, while I undo the bind," he said, maving his staff forward and holding it in front of the band of light circling the kougress. The maractite started glowing more as the sorcerer worked his magic. Slowly the light began to get thinner, and as this went on eventually dissappeared altogether.
The ring once more looked rather harmless, glinting dimly in the dark. Shallo stepped back, holding out his hand, the other grasping the bite wound. "I'll be having that back now, if you please." A warning glance shot at the darigan, but otherwise Shallo did nothing to provoke an attack.

Strips watched the arrow as if flew and hit the ring, and then his eyes darted to where the arrow had come from. They remained there for a moment before drifting upward and to the side slightly. He knew who had fired the arrow and he figured that she hadn't remained in the place she had shot the arrow from, but as far as where the little girl was exactly, he had no idea.
His eyes darted back to the jetsam and to Azura after a short time, just in time to see the 'warning glance'. He bared his teeth slightly and a small growl escaped him out of pure habit, but he made no move to attack the jetsam. The jetsam hadn't hurt Azura, that he could see, so he would remain stationary. His legs felt like they were about ready to collapse out from under him anyway, and he doubted very much that he could get very far if he tried to move forward.

Azura scowled but them extended her arm to drop the ring in his hand. She then reached fro her purse and started digging around in it, pulling out a small vile of healing potion and sprinkling some on her finger, which stopped swelling and started to heal almost instantly. She got up and handed the small bottle to Strips, "Have this... I will be leaving now..." She said gravely feeling like she had already cause enough trouble as it was even though she was only trying to help...

Strips took the small vile though looked unhappy about it. Or maybe not so much unhappy as he looked puzzled. He would get around to using it later, but for now he was too happy about seeing Azura again to notice any pain. That feeling quickly shattered though when she said she was leaving. "Hey now, wait a minute. Where are you going?" He had to restrain himself from placing a bloody hand on her shoulder; as much as he would have liked to, she had acted so strange around him in the past that he didn't think such an action would be appropriate.

Azura looked over at him and smiled, "I was heading back to my cave actually, now that I have settled in with everyone, I wanted to see if any of my things remained..." She turned to face him, looking behind him at the jetsam and then back at Strips, "I don't know... I just though it would be better without me at the moment seeing you have your hands full... I don't know what I was thinking when I ran in like that." She twiddled her thumbs as she admitted her stupidity.

The jetsam grunted as she dropped the ring into his hand. With a glance toward the sky as he searched a last time for the faerie, he settled on the ground to assess the damage of the battle. Nothing a little magic couldn't fix. He slipped the binding ring back onto his cloak and snagged another one off his staff. The small blue markings on it started glowing as he slipped it on.
Focusing on the bite, the jetsam slowed his breathing, entering a kind of trance. After a few moments of this, all that was left of the bite was raw skin. The spots from the kougra's teeth now shone as soft white flesh not yet covered by the rough coating of the rest of his body.
Shallo sighed and removed the ring, slipping it back on his staff, rather exhausted. He usually limited himself to working only smaller magics in this short a time, but now he was worn out. The jetsam leaned on his staff, watching the two kougra talk, every so often casting a searching glance about.
