Strips forced a weak smile, not wanting her to go but also not wanting such an emotion to show. "Ah, but for you I shall always empty my hands." He replied while he reached one hand behind him to secure his dagger in his belt again and stuffed the other hand in his pocket to place the vile Azura had given him inside. "Besides, no harm no foul, not like anyone was seriously injured. You were simply doing what your heart was telling you to do."

Azura smiled and blushed slightly, "Then I guess I can stay a while longer..." She said and looked around at the shadowy town, "Where exactly are we?" She asked, looking for a sign but not finding one. She was only passing through, her mind fixed on one destination and she really didn't know where she was just where she was going to end up... She really was expecting to find anyone else on her way, especially not anyone she knew but was glad she had and was more than happy to stay a little while longer if there was no problem... One thing that bugged her was that xweetok; the jetsam didn't seem that bad, right now at least...

Strips shrugged to Azura's question. "I have no idea where we are. I ended up here by accident.....though I do rather like it here." When he had first come here he had been running, and there hadn't been a whole lot of time to check the place out when he had entered it. Now he was in the middle of this place with no idea where to go.
He smirked a sigh and shook his head as the running thought entered his mind. He still couldn't believe what had happened, and it still made him feel like some kind of an animal that was being hunted down. He hated that feeling, and hated himself for running away. He should have stayed and let himself get killed before he ran away. He had broken one of his own rules, and now he was cursing at himself in his mind for it.
He cast a suspicious glance towards the jetsam for a moment; not trusting anyone by this point with the exception of Azura. But that's only because he knew her, though for him to trust her completely would have been foolish in his eyes. He had a big problem with trust; he didn't even trust himself most of the time. Probably why he didn't carry a dagger with him when he went to a bar; because he didn't trust himself enough to be sure he wouldn't do anything stupid.
As his eyes returned to Azura, he forced a small smile. "So how are things going at your new home anyway?"

Azura frowned when he said that he too was as lost as she was but nodded to his next question, "Fine! I have my own room and everything..." She smiled warmly. The transition was hard but after she got used to it everything was fine. She did miss Strips and his family though, "Ummmmm, so...." She looked around, wandering how he ended up in the abandoned town but thought it was better off not to ask... She smiled shyly and twiddled her thumbs again, looking around, "How have you been?" She asked, finishing off her sentence.

The Xweetok was getting really bored just listening to them talk. She wasn't feeling up to killing any one of these clowns, at least not yet, so she drifted off on the air, wondering if she would find some easy prey anywhere nearby. She'd been disappointed with her last kill; too quick, too clean. She preferred slow and torturous deaths over quick and painless ones. She figured she'd find some easy prey that would be easy to just pick apart until she was bored and finally ended it. That was all anything was to her: fun. If she got bored, she either got rid of the thing that was boring her, or she left it alone. If she tortured someone and was bored and walked away, the person would most certainly die of something like lack of blood or catching a disease with a ton of open wounds to be poisoned by it. She floated about for a while, patiently waiting to find someone, anyone else. She was a patient girl. She could wait to find someone. ((ME: Ahh! Arathyne is a murderer! *runs* ARA: Get back here, you freak, I've never killed anyone in my life. ME: So you say... Muahahaha.))

Strips was mildly humored by Azura's question, and that humor showed in the form of a smirk. He looked over at his shoulder and then down at his leg before replying with a, "Pretty darn good, actually." His voice didn't show any hint of sarcasm; more like he was stating a simple fact. "I'm glad everything worked out for you. Having you living that close to that ghost worried me for a while." Though he really wasn't as angry at Dre as he let on. He wasn't even upset about what Dre did to him to get Azura into the future. Mostly he was angry about all the other dreams, the haunting nightmares of his past which he had almost every night. And he blamed Dre for those dreams, even if she wasn't the one giving them to him. It would be hard to convince him otherwise.

The conversation wasn't exactly the most interesting for Shalloanil, either. He hadn't really learned anything from the transaction, other than the kougress lived near here...and that the two knew each other somewhat. The jetsam rubbed his shoulder absent mindedly as he listened to the two, leaning heavily on his staff. Well, at least the trip had not been for nothing. Now he had some new powers to investigate. The metalworker in him was already coming up with how the newst addition the his growing collection of rings would work. But first he needed the magic of course.
((I shall have to explain to everyone how I figure the logic of his rings to be, and the magic behind them.....as soon as I figure out what Gorrio's initiation type ceremony thing should be in his history ^^))

Azura laughed,"Dre is never around, I guess that is why I'm am not having that many problems..." She said and smiled, she had kinda gotten over the fact that Dre had messed up her whole life by putting her five years into the future but she was very happy with the family and everything she had now so maybe it was on purpose... She didn't know if Strips was still mad about that or something else though so she really couldn't help with that....

((Yes! You've got some explaining to do. XD Just kidding.))
Strips nodded, "Well that's good, I suppose." He didn't want that, in his opinion, 'darn bloody ghost' anywhere near Azura in the first place, and to hear that she wasn't around very often eased his mind.
After a moment of silence he broke all thought processes he had and turned his head to look in the direction of the jetsam. "You there. What's your name?" He asked with a hint of mild curiosity. He couldn't imagine why anyone would be in this town, but he already knew why he was there and why Azura was there. He just didn't know why this stranger was there and was hoping to figure it out.

The black and white magician grunted as he was addressed, standing a bit straighter with pride. "I, my feline acquaintance, am Shalloanil, a sorcerer of the Lost Desert."
A grin played across his face as he stated this, memories returning. And the pleasure of confusing those who doubted a jetsam's ability to live in the hot desert.

A small smirk came across Strips's face as he noted the jetsam's change of tone, though quickly became lost at the jetsam's name. "Shall...Shall....Pleasure to meet you, sir." Though you couldn't really blame him; that was a hard one to pronounce. He didn't even think about the fact that a jetsam had just said he was from the lost desert, though he wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box and the thought just hadn't crossed his mind. Just about the only thought that did cross his mind was the fact that he had only originally been trying to get the stranger's name at first but the stranger had given up the information he really seeked without him having to fish for it. "A sorcerer, huh? I must say I've never encountered a sorcerer before....At least, not that I know of."

"Really? Judging by the xweetok that was chasing you when I fist caught sight of you, I would guess you're acquinted with many magic users." Shallo said, smirking at the mispronounciation of his name. "If the name gives you trouble, Shallo will work," he said. Normally he reserved the name, but he figured he should cut the kougra some slack.
"While we're at it, perhaps I might incuire as to your identity as well, and the lady's as well, maybe." The jetsam said this with a bow toward Azura, watching the two intently.

Azura listened to them and looked around when Shallo mentioned the xweetok, she still didn't like the feeling of being watched by someone she couldn't see... She looked back at the Jetsam when he spoke about returning names and looked at Strips. She had never really been in a situation where people wanted to kill each other; she didn't know about the jetsam but the xweetok definitely wanted someone's blood... She looked at the ground shyly, figuring that if her name was required then she would give it but waited for Strips to act first so she wouldn't look stupid again...

Strips gave a single nod as the jetsam shortened his name for him. "Ah, yes, Shallo will be far easier to recall. And you may call me Strips." He paused to allow time for Azura to announce her own name, not feeling it appropriate to gives hers out for her. He figured if she wanted the jetsam to know her name then she could tell him herself, and he didn't want her to get mad at him for announcing her name if she didn't want anyone to know what it was. Come to think of it, if he were her he probably wouldn't give his name....But then again, he was a little paranoid.

Azura looked over at Strips as a long awkward pause of silence took over the conversation, "Uhm, yeah and I am Azura..." She said feeling stupid anyways, breaking the silence. She smiled weakly, trying to cover up her mistake. "Ummmm, so, your from the Lost Desert?" She said, finding it weird the a creature of the water was from a place without water...
