Umber had stood up with a final glare at the xweetok, and was a good three steps away from the table, when Trei's words hit her ears and she froze in place, fists clenching, stiffening.
The words Trei said were true, hell, she knew that more than anyone. However, her tone inflamed Umber. How dare she... Does she even know what I could do to her!? Umber whirled, and stepped back to the table, slamming her hands on it, bending down so that her face was mere inches from the xweetok's.
Her expression was furious, and the flames in her eyes were very high, nearly obscuring her pupil. She kept her eyes wide to showcase that fact, and her hands were smoking more than usual, a spark jumping off of them every so often. Umber did not like to showcase her anger this much... but she had decided this girl infuriated her, and if she ever had a weakness, it was her temper.
"I really don't think you know who you're dealing with here." she said, voice low and deadly.

People all around were looking at Umber in fear; Trei didn't flinch. Trei half-expected Umber's thoughts to cram into her head whether she wanted them to or not; they were very loud. She could only smile more when Umber threatened her. She has no idea, she thought triumphantly.
At her words, Trei only said, "I really think I do," before yawning and leaning against the seat. "But whatever. This date is soooo boring."

Umber's expression intensified. She hated being mocked. The candles on the table suddenly lit themselves, and following that, every single candle on each table for perhaps a 20 foot radius followed suit. Several people screamed, mostly women, though Umber really wasn't listening.
"If you're so bored..." she spat, though then went to a creepy sort of composure, grinning wider, looking almost sharklike. "How would you like to find out?"
The candle closest to Umber was burning so fast that the wax was overflowing from the candleholder and dripping onto the table.

Trei looked at the candle that would at any minute now catch the wooden table on fire, and then suddenly it went out. She looked back at Umber.
"Certainly," she said. "But I think I'd rather eat something first."
She really liked Umber now, which meant merciless taunting for the Lupe for the rest of the time they were here. Trei knew for a fact that Umber was not only not going to walk out on her, but she was also hungry.

Umber glared at her for several moments, though her outright furious expression was quickly veiled and them replaced by one of scheming and contempt. Two can play it that game... She straightened up, walked back to her side of the booth, sat down, then stared at Trei fixedly with a smug expression, not caring to open the menu yet.

-Two can play at that game.-
Trei took this momentary pause in the fire of Umber's temper to lay a block on the Lupe's magick. It lowered itself quickly but lightly, so Umber didn't feel it until it completely trapped the magick.
Just until we can cool you down, girlie, Trei thought.
"Soo, Umber," she said pleasantly. "I'm surprised you came here at all. Who mentioned it to you, again? Certainly not one of your non-existant friends?"

"Certainly." Umber said with a smile, propping her elbows on the table, lacing her fingers under her chin again. The fact that she had no friends was not insulting to her, she knew it as well as anyone, kept it that way, infact. Trei's tone, however, could use improvement. But that was the reason she was still here, no?
"So, how've you been feeling lately?" Umber said, mimicking the xweetok's cordial tone, "Certainly not desperate enough to go on dinner dates with unstable strangers?"

Trei noticed the lack of an answer to her question, but moved on to anwer Umber's. "Me? I've been feeling fine, really, but life's been a bit boring. A couple of my friends set this up because they think I need somebody, and I agreed because I had nothing better to do. Although I was doubting at first, I must say I'm starting to like my agreeing to it." She grinned.

Umber raised an eyebrow, then laughed. "You're actually-? You think-? Wow...." She chuckled, but the idea that Trei was actually enjoying this? Well, it was laughable, to say the least... Wait!
Something in her brain clicked, and she smiled widely. Oh, she could have fun with this. Leaning a bit closer to the xweetok, she said in a slightly grumpy tone, "I really don't understand why someone like you wouldn't have someone."

"Someone like me?" Trei asked, unfazed, a polite smile on her face. "Whatever do you mean?"
She knew without looking into Umber's mind what that smile meant, and what Umber was planning. Umber thought that she'd found a weakness in Trei that she could harness and use against her. The poor girl, thought Trei, eyes flashing dangerously, her smile still polite. She's got some rude awakening coming her way....

Umber laughed, a touch of sarcasm in it, leaning back in her chair again. "Well, isn't it obvious?" Picking up the menu, she surveyed the xweetok over the top of it.
She knew she was doing a sloppy job of it, laying it on too thick, but couldn't care less. Flirting had never been her thing. Right now Trei was proving to be quite the interesting little character, a balloon that would only pop if you poked it in a certain spot. And she would find that, eventually, wouldn't she?

"Not to me, m'dear. But would you be so kind as to enlighten me with the obvious?" She raised an eyebrow and pretended to look confused.

Umber's gaze sharpened for an instant. What.. is she stupid or something?, but she disguised it with a quick little laugh, leaning her head back against the booth and running a hand through her hair, pretending to be flustered and doing quite a good job at it.
"...Never mind. Just forget I said it."
Taking the menu again, she buried her face behind it, sneaking a glance or two at Trei to gauge her reaction.

((Aww, no xDD Can't believe you haven't heard that before. It's kinda like a pickup line, Bascially means, "Wow, you're so awesome/pretty/amazing, etc, I can't believe you don't have a girl/boy friend!" xDD))
