((Well Trei's pretty femme, and she'll wear a skirt while Umber wears the pants, but I just can't picture Umber as the one on top, so I'd say she's the man :/ Not really sure though. What do you think?))
"Dutch? Not a chance," Trei said sternly. "I'm paying for this. I'm not going to let an extremely attractive and gorgeous young woman have to spend one penny on this date."
Trei knew what she had said, but she didn't care. It was the truth, wasn't it? Besides, Trei always treated her dates to dinner and a movie, making sure they never paid. They shouldn't have to.
((Haha, what a gentleman Trei is... XD I wonder how Umbie's going to react :3))

((hmmm... well i'm really not sure.. they both are wearing skirts, after all ;D I think it could be a sort of competiveness thing xDD I'm not sure either. They both have dominant personalities xDDD))
Umber blinked, as if not hearing right what the xweetok had said, and opened her mouth as if to protest, but then shrugged. "Suit yourself." she said, in a monotone sort of way. Better that way, her mind said, trying to reassure you, At least you're not wasting money on this disaster.
Her mouth curled in a sudden smile, and she justified it to herself as satisfaction at this fact, however, the real reason it was there was the compliment. Attractive? Gorgeous? How long had it been before someone had said such a thing about her... and apparantly meant it, not in the idle way that trashy individuals on the street might say, trying to get attention or take advantage.
You're going soft on me. an internal voice snarled, and instantly her smile dropped off her face.
"I'll handle the tip though." she said, peeling a few bills from her wallet, tone indicating there was absolutely no negotiation about this fact.

Why Umber's thoughts were still so loud that Trei couldn't block them out easily, she wasn't sure. But a small grin curled onto her face when she heard Umber argue with herself about Trei's comments on her appearance.
"Go for it," she said, letting the tip thing slide. She put the money on the table and slid out of the booth, standing up to wait for Umber.

Umber slid out of the booth, stood by Trei for a moment, then began to head for the door, though waiting for Trei to follow. Her head was furiously gnashing thoughts together, including more than a few nostalgic memories of her previous time spent with... her...
She ran a hand through her hair, in attempt to keep it out of her face, then walked out the door, waiting for Trei just outside, and staring out at the city. A couple was sitting on a nearby bench, smoking cigarettes and talking quietly, and she watched them, as nothing else was moving outside.
(lame post is lame! lol)

Trei followed Umber outside and tried very hard to ignore the chaos going on inside of the Lupe's head that buzzed in Trei's mind's ear. God, why wouldn't Umber just turn her brain off? She remembered her old teacher telling her that some people simply had louder thoughts than others, but Umber's was one of the hardest to drown out. It was like she was being forced to read her secret diary, but worse, because sometimes people lied or forgot the whole story in a diary. She didn't like to read minds. It was rude.
"So, want to go for a walk?" she suggested after awhile.

Umber didn't answer for a moment, simply stood there, hands in her jacket pockets, then shrugged, turning to Trei, and completely ignoring her previous question, "So, why did you come here?" she asked, jerking her head towards the clusters of light that was downtown. She was curious about this perhaps because of her own dislike for neopia central.

Trei wasn't surprised by Umber's question, because she hadn't been able to tune it out. But she looked at Umber and shrugged. "Boredom, mostly," she admitted. "I haven't been on a date in awhile. Some friends of mine who know some of your friends set this up, I guess, and I was bored so I hiked it all the way from Shenkuu here. But it wasn't a very big deal, just a boat ride..." She shook her head, if to clear it or what, she wasn't sure. "But I was, well, kind of here anyway, um. I've been in town a few days and my friends called to tell me to meet you here. But I came here because, well, I dunno. I used to live here. I kind of missed it ,I guess."

Umber raised an eyebrow by the margin of an inch. Shenkuu?
"How can you miss this place?" she asked, a note of irritation in her voice, as if the very thought of this place disgusted her. Stopping a moment, as if to compose her thoughts, she added, "I grew up in Meridell. Hated the place. Then I came here.." She frowned, "Here isn't much better." Although brief, this was the most that she had ever told anyone about her past for a very long time.
She paused, silent for a moment as if affected by this thought, then added, "Let's go on that walk..."

She nodded once and Umber's thoughts quieted down a little bit. Trei started to walk leisurely down the side of the road, saying, "I've lived all over the place. My, well, owner, I guess, she's more like a human who just lets us live with her.. she took me in when I was six years old. I can't really remember a lot from before then, but we were here, and moved later when I was seven to the Lost Desert. I started-- uh, well, I didn't have a lot of fun there." She bit her tongue for a moment. She needed to be more careful. She almost told Umber she could read minds. "I started school and eventually we moved back to the Central, then Mystery Island, then back, then we parked in Shenkuu and that was that, really." She was quiet.

Umber followed Trei, keeping pace with her easily. "I have a human like that... Sort of. Or atleast my sister does. She was the one who insisted I stay here." Her lip curled slightly, and she added, "She's not exactly my favorite." She was quiet for a moment, realizing all that she had said, then decided although it was about her, it was small, unimportant details, "I've been living with them at my sister's...erm... insistence for perhaps 6 months now."

"Yeah... Lucy doesn't like it when she's called our 'owner'. She thinks humans have no right to 'own' us." She paused for awhile, then asked, "So, who is this sister of yours?" She tried to focus more on the words that Umber actually chose to speak, rather than the ones she was forced to think. Trei didn't want to read Umber's mind without permission or feeling any reason to. It was... well, an invasion of privacy.
