-THE roleplay- TAKE1

[Lilium]

Daani scowled, then sighed. "No," she said. "You don't have to tell me about your life, but I need to tell you mine. You don't even have to listen, I just have to say it." She took a deep breath. "You see... back then, eight years ago... when I met up with my family during my near-death, my grandmother told me something. More like suggested, really, but still..." She paused, then went on. "She suggested that, since neither you nor Checkr or I had a home, we should all live together somewhere. You know. Work together to make some sort of a life, but we'd never have to be alone. I wanted that. I wanted that so bad. But I didn't tell any of you because I was afraid. I felt unwanted. I felt that Checkr was only pretending to be nice to me the whole time, and you were a whole other story." She looked away. "After I ran off, I hoped you would chase me. But I didn't want that, either. I was messed up, and didn't know what I wanted. My entire family and all my friends were dead and I'd turned down the chance to be with them again. The day I left the village and they were murdered in my absense ... was the end of my happiness, and the beginning of a seemingly endless nightmare. My life went to total and absolute hell after that.

"But then," she said, her eyes stinging with oncoming tears she wouldn't let out, "I lost those memories and met Checkr, and Phyn, and you. Those days I had no memory, no voice... were the first days of bliss I'd had in a long time. Lue... you were like a brief dream that appeared before me in that nightmare. I cherish those moments all of us were together even still, for they were the happiest days of my life after all I'd known was taken from me. The only reason I kept on living all these years was because I needed to see you, one last time. I needed to tell you that... that..." She hesitated, and a few tears squeezed out of her eyes when she blinked.

Lue understood most of what she said in the beginning. She hadn't told him much about the memories that she had gained back eight years ago but he had a clue that that is what happened when her mom came that one time to explain things and when they saw that rubbeled village..... He had thought she was kind of weird back then with her happy/sad mood swings but vaguely understood now. He smiled when she started mentioning their adventure but then frowned when he saw her face dampened by tears. Then she stopped and was cut off by more tears. Lue didn't understand why she was crying, she was talking about happy memories and stuff yet tears were coming out of her eyes. He lifted a hand and wiped some of the tears from her face, "What, what is it?" He asked, pushing her chin up so that she would look at him in the eyes.

When he wiped away the tears, her heart stopped for a moment, and then it was beating at impossible speed when he lifted her chin. She didn't want to look at him right now, it would only make this harder. She turned her head a little bit and locked her eyes on a pipe against a wall. "I made it this far," she said slowly. "I just wanted to let you know. But when I saw you, and you didn't even remember who I was..." She closed her eyes again, and more tears came out. Her voice shook. "It smashed me into a million pieces. But of course you wouldn't remember me. Of course you wouldn't... love me. There is no reason to. I was a weird little kid eight years ago, and I'm a creepy adult now. I've killed witches and I've killed innocent people, but it's all been for reason. Sometimes I would get in trouble and I just..." She paused again. "Though you are a bright light in my memory, in yours I am probably just a dirty, unwanted stain."

[Kiweh]

Lue looked at her blankly, this was not something he had expected to hear out of her mouth. That wasn't something he expected to hear out of anyone's mouth... He wanted to tell her that she wasn't a stain and that he was sorry for not recognizing her but he was speechless at the moment. His cyan eyes just stared at her as if he was expecting her to say something else like 'Just Kidding! You should have seen the look on your face!' but nothing else came after that. He finally looked down at the ground, now able to think about what she said after the moment of shock was gone. "I, uh..." He muttered but no words came to mind, "Your not..." He looked up at her with confusion, "Your not a stain..."

[Lilium]

She frowned. "Well, even if I'm not a stain, I'm still not what you are to me." She looked at him sadly. "Lue, come on. Look at yourself. You're handsome and selfless and kind. And you're unique, too; a hybrid. Mutts are always better than purebreds. Now look at me. I'm pathetic and unoriginal and I'm missing appendeges(sp?) and... I'm a freak. There is no reason for you, practically royalty, to comingle with someone unworthy like me." New tears welled up in her eyes. "I love you, Lue. I always have."

Again Lue felt weird hearing those words come out of someone's mouth but this time he could actually say something, "Uh, ummm..." He said and watched as she started crying again, "Please don't cry..." He said taking a step closer, "Your not pathetic or unoriginal or a freak..." He said trying to comfort her... "Please....." He begged, not liking to see her this way. He didn't know what to do though, he felt helpless. "Come on, think about it. Someone who springs back to life after being dead for a good fifteen minutes isn't pathetic and I don't know about you but I haven't met any other Oracles before so don't tell me you unoriginal. As for being a freak, that's me... Trust me being a hybrid isn't something to celebrating about...." He was smiling at the beginning of that but at the end he was dead serious.

[Lilium]

She stood up suddenly, eye level with him. "It is, Lue, it is!" she insisted. "How many Lupe-Scorchios do you see walking around, huh?" She hesitantly touched his face. "I don't care about those people who call you a freak just because you were born different. I think you're wonderful, just who you are. And... and..." She closed her eyes, trying to clear her mind, get the words out. "You being a hybrid, in my opinion, is definitely a plus." And then she kissed him on the mouth.

Lue's eyes grew wide but he didn't move. He couldn't move, all his muscles had tensed up as he held his breath. What was happening, he knew she had just admitted that she loved him and that her life was hell without him but he still couldn't understand what was happening. His mind was blank, he didn't know what to do or what to say. He slowly relaxed but he still felt like a statue.

[STARLING]

"I have a cell phone!" Vann said, holding it up. "And so do I..." Vixcy piped up aswell, pulling hers out of her purse. She found a scrap of paper and began to scrawl out her number on it for the other's benefit.

Checkr deposited her load of supplies on a nearby table - there was a great quantity of flashlights, some bottled water, soda, and even a few bags of chips. She walked around for a few moments, wondering if she should offer the others this, though she really didn't know anyone, besides Phyn, Daani, and Lue of course, and then Rasi, but he was deep in conversation with the shoyru from earlier. "Anyone need anything?" she asked.
"Yes, mortal!" said Skypii suddenly from his position floating above the vending machine. "Marshmallows." He began to float alongside his sister. "Let us go! You come too, and help me take care of the chocolate..." The kyrii rolled her eyes, but followed him. Not like there was anything else to do...

Drift helped move the tables aswell, knowing that valuable search time was lost.. It would be much easier in the daylight anyways, before joining Nerrone, who had obtained a tourist-map of Neopia Central from the convenience store and was studying it quietly by flashlight.

"We oughta have a rave or something! Or just some music!" Saluki proclaimed suddenly, standing up and pulling an tiny mp3 player out of her pocket. "Who has speakers?" the gelert demanded.

Umber scowled. "Nice host." she muttered, taking a seat against the wall. She flicked her hand in the lighter motion in irritation.. and nothing happened. Eyes narrowing, she tried it again.. and again. Still nothing. The lupe swore loudly, making a few of the humans jump, and continued to do this. Nothing.. Nothing. She tried every other technique and method she knew... No fire. The lupe jumped to her feet in frustration, stomping her boot on the floor, "DAMN IT!"

[Jukebox]

((Well, she could steal the cellphone, but I think Shallo has it in his pocket, and she gets them back ina few days anyway. But she stole some rings, so she might have someone else's powers, or something))

Omega looked over his shoulder at the gelert, and Phyn sighed with irritation. Gorrio meanwhile did his best to subtly move what was left of the communicator out of sight, in case she somehow managed to get hold of its speakers.

[STARLING]

Saluki glanced at the three pets, waving and throwing them a winning smile, which quickly turned into a confused look as she noted their expressions. She stood there for a moment, then flopped back down in her seat, producing a pair of headphones and listened to her music in relative silence, bopping her head slightly, and humming a bit.

"The map wouldn't be my first choice..." said Nerrone, pointing a thin finger along the roads and avenues. "Outdated, at best. But it appears it's all we have..." She pointed again, this time on a building. "There's where we are..."

Daani didn't realize she'd had to stand on tip-toe to get to Lue. She broke away from the kiss, but her face was still close to his. She opened her eyes. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, "for that and the bad memories I've caused you. I just wanted to be by your side. I'm so sorry."

Lue looked down at her, still in shock from this whole thing but finally understanding what was going on ((yea ^^ took him long enough)). She really did care for him, she really did love him. He didn't love her though, not like she did him... Yeah he cared for her, as a friend, but they had been away from each other for so long and there was so much that had left from their friendship. For the longest time Lue had thought that Daani just rounded him, Phyn and Checkr up so that she would have somebody to help her get her voice back and then when she got it back she left them. That's why she wouldn't make the bond because she really didn't care for them as much as they care for her and that bond would put a link them together and she didn't want. But now he understood, it wasn't like that at all... In fact it was totally different, Daani had wanted to stay longer with them and she did care about them, especially Lue... "Daani..." He muttered and looked her in the eye his face finally had comprehension on it, "No bad memories were caused by you except when you left... And that..." He was talking about her kiss, "Was also not a stain..."

She looked at him mournfully, then smiled the tiniest of smiles, but it was still a sad smile. "I know there is no chance that you might love me back," she murmured, "but that's okay, because now, at least you know that I do, and I don't have to carry this burden anymore." She closed her eyes and bent her head downward a little. "I only lived on so that I could tell you that. Now that I have, I can be reunited with my family and friends at last."
